Welsh Rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit chases NFL dream in US

Welsh rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit has said making it in the NFL would be the "most proud moment of my life".
The former Gloucester, Wales and British Lion player quit rugby in January to switch to American football, and the 23-year-old is now completing a 10-week training and development camp in Bradenton, Florida.
The initiative, which is part of the NFL's International Player Pathway, is designed to attract players from outside the US to American football.

I think it's great that he and many European athletes and fans in general are liking our sport too. So many times we are sort of a punch line from people who don't understand our NFL game. Things like, "why do they call if football when soccer is football" or "We don't wear helmets and pads in Rugby so why all of the pads and protection in the NFL" but to see other countries now starting to realize how great our game truly is great. I think this rugby player will transition nicely. I don't like the Chiefs though so that's all we need is ANOTHER target for PM to throw to.

@@cjboyer4355He's going to make it as a special teamer (gunner, kick returner, punt blocker, personal protector where he can execute the fake punt w/ direct snap). He can also be a gadget on offense, a wildcat RB that can motion out wide (WR).

WR/RB is the wrong position for Rugby players to try to compete in. US Colleges have no shortage of 6ft to 6ft3 fast guys to send to the NFL. Rugby players trying to compete for these spots are at disadvantage. Only athletic giants like Jordan Mailata(6ft8) should be trying. Because there is a legit shortage of good Offensive Linesman in the League.
