"Wellness Check" | Episode 63 | NEW RORY & MAL

Ойын-сауық

This episode, the team takes a moment to acknowledge how far they have come since their split from their previous show a year ago. Demaris does a wellness check on Rory & Mal, and they get transparent with how they are handling life and career currently, in comparison to when their company first started. Mal gives some advice on taking life (and the people in it) as is, while Rory acknowledges some unhealthy habits he uses to cope. They also get into all of the new music released this past weekend. This episode is raw, transparent, and honest... but somehow, still jokes.

This episode was just superb. I was on a flight so had all the time to really listen. This episode really stamped why I FK with the pod, and I am so glad we can get this kind of honest covo without rants or unintelligent misdirections. I am super glad to just listen to this kind of chill and honest conversation. Demaris was excellent too, she should showcase this part ( Range, intelligence, and depth) of her personality slightly more. Shouts out to eddin. May God grant you the fortitude to bear your loss. He is a really good addition to the team. I like how mal interjected to say joe was never a friend. Fasting mal plus confident Rory is the dream team lol.

What a lot of humans do not understand about being is listening. Listening is extremely important. It’s better to listen than to talk because talking is only repeating what you already know for yourself. Kudos to Rory for always being open with us about his mental health imbalances. I honestly do not think he asked for you all’s opinions on what he needs to do for himself. He is self-aware. Telling him what he already knows is redundant. Just listening and allowing someone to say out loud what they already know is their truth is just powerful as giving unsolicited opinions.

To come out of that as effectively and with content the way we did... without mess" - Rory 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 That is why I listen and look forward to every episode of this podcast. I relate to the "move forward" mantra. Like Jay-Z said on "Love All" - "Best thing I could do is NOT build with you, when I could destroy you! That takes some F'n discipline." And it does.... takes a bigger person to let things go and keep going. This podcast exemplifies perseverance! And I'm all about that!!! Kudos to the Rory & Mal family for not only continuing to bring good content but to also NOT rely on controversy for views and likes. It happened, it's over and it's working. Mad respect!! #salute

Dope episode. I still hate how things ended for Rory & Mal at the JBP but I love what they were able to create after the fact. No lie, Demarius & Eddin have done a great job adding to the commentary they have really rounded out the group. I like the mental health dive in this episode, it's good to hear them open up about what they have dealt with

Imagine Mal as a therapist.. You: pouring your heart out Mal: "Yo that's crazy... that will be $600 dollars"

That’s what some people should be told, some people need to hear their problems don’t matter. Imo.

I've been in Rory's shoes. When you get played like that for so long, you try to make up for the time or joy lost. That can cause frustration, making you harder on yourself. You guys are right were you are meant to be. Let the game come to you, no need to force shots.
