Try adding bag filters you can try 50 microns from the start of the well then drop to 5 microns to the end . This help catch any solubles. Also I recommend chlorinating well after that long of not being in use. Lastly you can also consider adding media filtration and a RO.

Thanks for to this video. Moved to a place where the water is horrible and external assistance wasn’t working (long story) I got an ALTHY pre filter that filters everything 40 microns and above (the pressure is only enough for one filter). I concluded I needed a UV filter to kill the bacteria but hadn’t seen the option to remove the smell without an RO system. But I to see that you have a carbon filter only? I have to check that out. Thanks a lot!

You might want to replumb your uv sterilizer. UV can cause failure in plastic piping.

I would also recommend a softener with an ION exchange. Great job getting rid of the iron/ sulfur. How often do you replace those inline filters and how much are they?

Thinking of buy a house that has a well system. Im from the city so not familiar with it at all.
@krypticnexus
Жыл бұрын
Don't let it scare you is the best thing I can say check the water when you have the house inspected also have the water tested to make sure it is safe. There are several things that you can add to a well filtration system that kill any living things in it with a UV light. There are many different kinds of filters out there so if the water has heavy metals you can get a filter that filters specifically that. They can be expensive in the beginning when you're setting everything up but the maintenance on it is fairly low. My filtration system I change out my first stage filter probably once every 3 months and it's a $20 filter the other two I do twice a year and those are $40 a piece so it can be expensive in that aspect. Grant your water that is coming out may have a ton less sediment than mine does so if yours wouldn't have a lot of sediment those filters might last a very long time.

So why do you have a spen down filter and sediment filter? Isn't the spindown filter for sediments?

So I have the spin down filter to capture large objects that would clog the sediment filter faster. So it's a way to prolong the life of your sediment filter

If you had sediment it would help catch that. I switched to a 200 spin down filter because my 50 kept getting clogged every day. My plan will be to have the 200 then the 50 and then the five micron just for sediment.

That sucks to hear. I know at my old place I had bad iron deposits that clogged my filters constantly. Yeah we've gotten away with quite a minimal setup at the new place. I actually do plan on revamping it how it's connected running the well through the UV filter before going into the holding tank. Replacing the holding tank and redoing the filters. I plan on doing two spin down filters one 200 micron and a 50 micron and then the five micron and the two carbon filters.
