I'm unable to ride a bike, don't own a bike, yet here I am watching a video about a go fast motorcicle and thoroughly entertained. It takes me back to my younger days when I rode and skydived. Thanks, Jake.

Fun fact: wellnuts are incredibly common for kayaking and other aquatics due to their waterproof qualities. Thanks for the kind words!

Hi Jake - Some of the more mundane tasks you mention not thinking they would have video value would be interesting to someone who hasn't done that before. I am one of those people! Enjoy the show and thanks for putting it out there!

These are all the things I didn't know that I needed to know about well nuts & Ducati fairings. Very entertaining video, keep it up Jake!

Nice bike! Also, when cutting with a knife, NEVER TOWARDS YOU! ALWAYS AWAY FROM YOU. That's how accidents happen ;)

Your removal of the right side fairing without undoing the bolts holding the two sides together is an invitation to more fairing cracks. And add an inline filter. Other than that, carry on. You are making some good videos.

Good progress on the bike. I’ve got a 94ss here in oz that’s been looked after a bit better than yours. Power tools and well nuts don’t mix!

Where did you get your well nuts. I bought some Amazon ones and they suck. The insert pulls right through with barely any tension

What do you expect it's Italian exotica. With time all the rubber parts and plastics will turn crispy and crack and disintegrate.

I am one of those three people. Also, do you think honest to goodness that a 600 or 700 cc Duc is a good first bike?

Depends on your perspective. You can't crash it because you'll be too busy fixing it, so yes. Perfect starter bike.

Not much wrenching experience? Screws going into well nuts on Ducati fairings should be hand tightened to a slight bulge in the rubber (1/4-1/3 larger than relaxed dia., about as much as what you'd feel was moderately tight with the long end of the allen key inserted in the screw). Don't run the screw fully home with an electric drill. The fairing sides are aftermarket replacements on your bike. It's OK, I look at guys working on japanese bikes and wince, just like I do watching you futz with this Ducati. Why would you put another lining in the tank? It's a steel tank! Clean it and use it as is. The gas cap ring leaks because the the O-ring is nicked, or not there (it's an SOB to install-vasolene). ALWAYS drain the tank down to 1/2 gal before lifting it on the prop stand & hinge, otherwise, the hinge weld will fail, and cause a leak.
