Hey Team Chappers, Alex from Barefaced here! I think KZread must be broken because normally the comments section is a very dark and scary place... So thank you! As Rob will confirm, I can talk about all things music, sound, acoustics, engineering and so on for an eternity - so if you want to know more about these Barefaced Diffractor guitar cabs come and subscribe to our KZread channel and settle in for some high level geekery. I'll try to answer what I can here too - but I don't want to write War & Peace when some handwaving and scribbling on a whiteboard will do a better job!

(Sees video topic) "Well this looks like a stupid boring video".....(After watching the whole thing) "Wow, that was a really interesting video."
As a recording engineer for 30+ years, I’m totally into the nerdy physics presented here! The cab creator is on the way to solve some long standing challenges of how to bring out the tone of a guitar rig. Thanks to Rob for not editing the exciting stuff out, and best of luck in bringing these cabs to market! 😀🎶

I don't know this is that important for big venues, but for small venues this seems revolutionary. So cool.

Yeah, a lot of big venues these days only have stuff on the stage for show, and there's a small amp or just a digital rack backstage sending everything to the PA and monitors. But in every place where a cab actually matters, these are just stonks.
A man with socks like that can only be brilliant
Wow. That is amazing. Recorded clearly anywhere from in the room & just blew away the Victory cab. There is a tv ad here in Australia, & to quote the ad - "shut up & take my money". I want one
I was exactly 6.40 mins into this video and I had to stop. This is one of the most informative and truly exciting vids I’ve seen in a while. Not just from you Chappers, who constantly puts out stellar content, but in general. Alex’s passion for the science behind the sound is intoxicating. I identify with Alex, as one who loves the world of guitars, but with a science background. Hearing him profess this knowledge is something that is sorely missed in the demo world. I know not everyone is a physics/electronics aficionado, but boy is it welcome when an engineer puts their knowledge to art. Well done Alex and Rob. Thanks for being bold pioneers, both of you in your own way.
Wow, no matter where he was with the boom it pretty much sounded the same. May have just revolutionized the speaker cab! Cool AF! I want one!
That is pretty incredible! The spread of sound all across the room is great! I will be ordering myself one right away for my bedroom setup

That was my thought too. Perfect cab to go with a lower output bedroom amp or in a small practice room situation. I just sold my 1x12 too...

It's truly amazing how you meet people. Great work the both of you, if I ever get good at guitar or bass, I will 100% order.
Just watched this on my tv, and you could hear the difference on low volume. That is amazing!
Awesome video guys!!! Gonna have to save for one of these! Thank you for your service Alex.
That's remarkable! Well done Alex, you're clearly a very clever chap and I hope that you do very well out of this.
What a lovely chap! Highly informative and entertaining video, cheers!
It's kinda like a reverse Klipschorn corner horn. Clever idea. Thumbed up for the early mention of coffee! I have always built my own speakers, and I used to work for an audio manufacturing company, so this nerdy speaker stuff is great fun to me. Thanks for the vids :)
These look and sound amazing! Very innovative!!! Looking forward to seeing these available in Canada!
That is incredible, truly blown away.
So so glad to hear about guitar cabs, it’s something I think has been kind of just passed over, personally when I was having my own amp and cab made its one of the areas I took my time on deciding what way I wanted my cab built and with what material and what types of speaker cones/ magnets etc, this guy will go far. Rob you need to do more reviews on his products ASAP. Super video guys thanks.
What an unbelievable difference. That cab is amazing!
Fascinating! I will definitely have to have one of these!
Incredible. I love Alex's passion, it's clear he's doing it for all the right reasons and I hope this changes the industry! and he also has amazing socks!
It sounds like you just use the mic near the box like normal.. EVERYWHERE IN THE ROOM. Great. I also would love to see a video of you showing this to Lee and Rabea for their reaction!
So awesome to see Alex and the guys at Barefaced getting some wider recognition! Have been lusting after their bass cabs for ages now as they're head and shoulders better than any other bass cab I've ever tried. They also did an open day at their factory recently and they are just a thoroughly awesome bunch of guys making some incredibly clever things. My only complaint is that I imagine their wait list for their cabs is going to be getting a lot longer now and I still haven't bought mine yet as I'm still saving for it!
Sounds amazing. Now I want to replace my Boss Katana 50 with a Boss Katana-Head and the small Barefaced cab. Brilliant.
Great vid loved it !! Sounds awesome ! Well done Sir !
That is absolutely insane the sound does not change at all throughout the room. Mind blowing!!!
So cool! Sounds fantastic! I want one!
The difference is unbelievable. Not just the volume but the clarity and the balance. When he was walking around with the Victory the sound would go in and out and get muffled. The Barefaced was crystal clear and consistent no matter where he was waving the mic.
Good stuff. I have an early barefaced 'Big One' bass cab from around 2009 which is still going strong and sounding brilliant. Great to see a British company going from strength to strength!
You clever, beautiful, talented boys. I’m sold. The demo does it for me. Licence to Victory for the combo please!
Amazing, what a difference!!
nice so many bland boxes these look super cool. thanks for the heads up Sir!
Cited thank you for sharing I'm very excited I will purchase one as soon as possible thank you for the info chapters I appreciate it
When I saw the description, I thought you were reviewing Taxi Cabs for 20+ minutes haha! Awesome review and showcase here man!
That was damn impressive when he moved the mic around. That cab seems to be everywhere. You should use one on the Andertons tests to stop the bias that comes from sitting in front of the amp
Thanx Rob! Cant say thank you enough !!!!
Another great product made in Great Britain, best of luck on your journey 👌🏻🤘🏻
I haven't been this excited about a cab in a while. It has always been put a new speaker in to get better sound. Now it's get the new cab and see what happens. Brilliant. Keep on rockin' brother.
Sounds awesome!!
Wow that is very impressive ! Especially the spread.
The Victory cab sounded exactly like you would expect, like a cab with the mic halfway across a room. But the other one sounded close mic.ed the whole time.
The projection difference on that cab was insane!!!
Got to love a person that passionate about what they do. That cab is lovely and bright though!
OMG!! That little Cab is a Beast. I would have loved to have heard that 2x12. I hope he makes a fortune out of this, he's a Genius.
Great video and all the best to Barefaced. What a great idea. Sure to be a success!
I'm listening to this through my phone and I can't believe the difference. Wow !!! Good job 👍
Been looking around for a good cab to replace my lil practice amp combo...this may be the man to see. Thanks guys!
What a shame that is so f.. hard to bring one of these to Brazil! Unbelievable sound!
My favourite thing is people talking about what they're passionate about. Such a great vid!
I'm glad the speaker cabinet I was going to buy yesterday sold before I could buy it, while I was reading about Barefaced Audio for the first time. This Chapman character had incredible ears, proven in many Anderson's videos over the years, so a recommendation from him is credible. How serendipitous you two gents found each other (and that I found you too)!!!

Did you ever get one of these cabs, and if so how do you like it?
Alex is a genius and is gifted at making complex science and engineering concepts sound simple! I am definitely getting a Barefaced Super Compact T bass cab in the next 2-3 months!!! The fact that there is little if any, change in dispersion, along with the huge soundstage of the Barefaced is mind-blowing to me!
Wow! that is really cool. I could see how these cabs could easily make a live band recording Or rehearsal recording come alive! Hope they get their patent. brilliant improvement.
Sometimes things are meant to be.... what a chance meeting you guys had 👍
Wow this is one of the best products since the Evertune
WOW!! That is amazing, i think Alex is definitely on to something here. Imagine what a 4x12 could do with the same technology!!
Interesting video. Cool stuff.
Awesome indeed! This company is 100% on track. I predict much success for BareFaced cabs. Hell of a nice guy too. With his technology and vision the sky is the limit. Great 👍 video Rob.
That was amazing!
holey cow i cant believe this what a difference.i couldn't wait tell the end to comment because i was so blown away .great job barefaced audio
Unbelievable difference between the 2 cabs. The Barefaced cabinet sounded amazing, even through the weirdness that is KZread compression. He will sell a lot of these now that the world has heard the difference. I can only imagine how great they sound in-person. God bless and rock on!
Bass players have known how good Barefaced are for years. I love my BF bass cabs. The guitarists are in for a real treat!
Night and day between those cabs. Game changer! Thanks brother.
Fairplay!!
Mind... blown !! As soon as you tried the 2x12, my jaw dropped !
That is fucking amazing. Chapman actually delivers useful information not just plugging uninspiring crap for cash this is truly a revolution.

I get super excited about guitar cabs!
OK honestly here i think the guy just started a shift in the musical industry. No one is ever going to buy a huge orange or mesa 4x12 because with a 1x12 from this guy you can actually fill in the whole room with a 3D sound. Great for band practice, live, great for adjusting your overall stage volume. If i ever go back to tube amps, this will be the cab I'd buy, Well done!
Well done, Rob. I picture a wall of Barefaced 4X12s at a festival that can be heard in the next province! That young chap is about to be quite well off. Amazing. Thanks for sharing!

Proteus IKR? I know Gus is being tongue in cheek, but the big festival stages have all the reinforcement they want already. Where this is going to take off is little venues. Guitar and bass player have these and everyone everywhere hears the same thing without having to murder anyone who is straight in front of it? Gold
I've been wanting some of Alex's bass cabs for a couple of years, nearly bought one of the first generation guitar cabs in the sale a few weeks ago. This has definitely confirmed that I really have to get one now!
What an amazing sound they make. Now to start scraping the pennies together and I've only just started learning to play the guitar.
Nice job 👍
I have to mention that if anyone wants a laugh drop over to their website and check the names of the Tolex colors, nice work guys lol.
This is a game changer! Oh my - I want one so bad! It’s small, light sounds amazing! I’m 54 and this is something I’ve been looking for decades! I’m getting a band together and this would solve my main issue with live playing. That was a perfect demonstration. The difference in sound between those two was obvious. The Victory sounded great....when the mic was in the exact right spot. The Bareface sounded great in a huge range around the cab. Are they in the US? Argh! Must get cab!
Wow. Just wow.
Buying one next week fuck yes ..I cant believe the difference especially seeing I'm not there in the room..alex mate ..well done
Wow! That's a cool mod I can try on one of my closed backs. I have some woods scraps so no cost other than some time experimenting :)
hey these are really well priced! will certainly check them out!
Absolutely sick
Dang it!!!! Now I'm excited about a cabinet.
So it sold me... I just ordered a 212 with Greenbacks to replace my 1960A with V30s. Just a hobby musician in a band that is just getting started playing for people, but this seems to be a good tool for my purpose 😊
😲 Hell yes! the difference was night and day ! New cab time 👌🤘🍺
Yup!!! I didn't know that others felt the same way as I do about cab's
I love the way Rob says “tuba twelve”. I have a new, custom made cabinet arriving in a few days, and I’m pretty damn excited about it.
So this is what revolution sounds like... Amazingtasticincredible job !
Need to make a cab with the same pattern tolex as those socks.
F***ing AWESOME!!! (he is a genius and you too Chap... about the test with the moving mic!). Just curious about a test with modelers like Kemper and Fractal AxeFx.
Wow....incredible. The BareFaced volume didn't seem to change regardless of the mic position. As you stated....the Victory is darker, quieter and dependent on the mic location for volume. Excellent and informative vid.
Mind-blowing.
Awesome!
Absolute winner.
