    Yeah, it was harmless. It was closer to a 90 off-heading with 1/2 line twist. Looks worse than it is, definitely got the heart pumping though.

    @@bakerlandcrab9634 I did some reading, body position can be one of the factors, another one is parachute rotation before inflating which I think might've occurred here. It seems as if once he pulled the line for the parachute the wind caught it and steered it to the right, facing the cliff before it fully inflated and once it did inflate it steered him towards the cliff. He then pulled whatever the line is called to steer left or right to recover it. Some parachutes can however be packed incorrectly and on opening be twisted or fail to open correctly but those didnt seem to be the factors.

    This is awesome, you should do a vid where you take us through the whole jump: arrival, setup, climbing up to the spot. I'd watch the whole thing brother rock on!!

    I live in Moab, and I got to say watching you guys do this makes me nervous because I know of, and have personally seen many people die just up the Canyon from where you are. Glad you guys made it out alive!!!

    Yeah, take the skydiving progression slow and once you get at least like 300-500 jumps think about signing up for a BASE First Jump Course. It will keep you alive and having fun :)

    Base Jumping from 300 feet is so much FUN. If your chute doesn't OPEN in the first TWO seconds, then the fun is over.

    I remember reading about this one 'free solo' climber who made got known for a hybrid of base jumping and soloing. He called it 'free basing'.

    I live in Moab........sooooooo many places to jump.......this one is a favorite also in Moab area......Fisher Butte, then land on Fisher Towers, repack, then off the Tower down to your car.......Lots of Double-jumps in Moab:)

    You can jump from either. The grate is safer and more of an all-around experience. Super fun!
