I’m 74 now, and still look fondly on things I did with and learned from my grandfather. Brent, you’re teaching skills, but at the same time building memories. Big thumbs up to you!
Austin is a lucky dude to have a grandfather with a yard full of classics & the skill set to build em..

Yes Austin is one lucky grandson
Makes me jealous seeing a great dad be so patient and helping my young men to learn while working side by side
If one doesn’t try, you won’t learn. He’s learning well, learning from one of the best. My Dad used to tell me, if you don’t try, you won’t learn. He never ever said, bad job. Just kept saying practice makes perfect!!!!!
brent is like a mister miyagi of customization! my favourite part is seeing austin try and release the vicegrips without success, brent comes along and just bumps it with his thumb and it releases. the youth needs more of this kinda mentoring. love it !

Spic & Span engine bay! Level 1 tidy for sure! OSHA approved work footwear. ( I opt for my safety sandals myself, but Ionly work on my lawn tractor these days.) That engine is really gonna stand out now in that great engine bay!! TOP NOTCH !!!!!

I get the impression that once Brent clamps the vice grips on to something most people would struggle to release them again 💪😂
Austin is a very lucky young man. He's got the greatest grandfather he could ever ask for ❤
Great to see you teaching your grandson skills he can use to make a living! Also great to see him jumping in to use the level of tools you are teaching him to use. Thank you for your patience and teaching a younger generation
Loving the build on the 55 Buick My mom owned a 1957 2 Tone Pink and White 2 Door Buick Special Chrome everywhere That car was Beautiful and Very fast Car.
you can see the pride of ownership in that young man's eyes. He will be driving that car for a long time. Brent, you are doing a great job as a Grandfather and not doing it all yourself. Having Austin doing the work as well right along side you will make that car and the time together even more special. That is going to be a great first drive.
What a lovely education this child is getting
Brent, whether or not Austin remains interested in working on cars you have given him a huge boost by teaching him that he can do difficult things and do them well. That's a life lesson worth a million bucks! Good on you!
I forget sometimes that I’ve had a lot of practice doing stuff and shouldn’t be frustrated on how fast someone else is moving. Much admiration for all the teachers, that have to coral students and teach them life lessons. You Brent show that patience. Like, share and Happy Saturday to all and to all its nap time. 😆😴💤
Afternoon Brent & Austin, as I mentioned in a Previous video, Austin will never forget any of this.
It's great to see you working with the kids teaching them skills and processes they can foster into a hobby or business. But also they are learning skills in planning, layout, and confidence building which is something that seems to be fading away today.
I imagine that many grandparents, and parents, are thinking I wished I’d spent valuable time like that with my kids, should be a social prescription. Well done all of you

Kids these days have to want to do it. "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink".
Austin did well with the plasma and welder. You're a fine mentor to these boys, they will gain all sorts of self confidence.
I like seeing kids learning stuff, especially stuff that they could use in real life.
Every neighborhood should have a guy like Brent where local kids can go and learn skills they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.
My earliest mechanical lessons were with my grandfather, who was a machinist. I'll never forget that.
That car is gonna look so sweet when she's done. You got a nice car there Austin.
Great work Brent, showing and teaching the young people in your life skills they will use for a lifetime. Love the look of your car Austin.
Hello Brent, really cool seeing you and Austin working together. He is lucky to have such a good teacher and grandpa like you. Take care and be safe. 👍
Yeah, it’s important that he learns to use the tools safely an accurate
And this is why the whole KZread community is behind you Brent. Your heart is as big as Manitoba!
I remember when I was 10 and dad showing me how to swap out ballpoint on out international travelall 110 . It good to see you passing on you knowledge to grandson's, it will be something for them to remember the rest of their life ......
You're going to turn Austin into Dr. Dime Stacker! The fact that you're teaching these young men that they can find satisfaction in building something cool with their own hands and minds is a huge gift to them. Anyone can go buy something off of a car lot but it's a rare few that will be able to do what they will be capable of. And that lesson goes way beyond just cars.
Another great time spend lerning sessions with Brett, smiles all the way around id say
Good times your grandsons will forever cherish. Its shaping up snd looking good.
It's good to see young people interested in working on old vehicles great job guys!
Great work Aust... if it weren't for the dogs, you young fellers would be ruling this channel!!!
I totally agree. Austin has a superb grandfather. Tell Austin outstanding job. You are totally awesome Brent
You were like the Phoenix rising from the ashes, well done
All the mechanical skills I learned as a young kid have served me well working on farm machinery, motorcycles to cars and trucks it took great parents and grandparents with patience austen is a lucky young guy great job brent
Austin will have wonderful memories, of these experiences. Part of growing up, thanks Dan!
Best ‘school’ a kid could have….lucky young man. Thank you for sharing and taking the time to document this interaction.
Wax on,Wax off. A very good mentor.
Kind of a neat video the whole gang working on Austin’s Buick and getting it to look pretty good, it’s great what a splash of paint can do. Later
Under hood Minty!! Nice to see Austin's brother helping out...😎👍
Wish my granddad would have been able to help.with with a project like this when I was young. What you are doing for your grand kids will always be remembered and cherished by them. Great job all around.
I really enjoy watching Austin & Ryder working on their projects.
Teaching a kid how to weld is never a bad thing. It keeps hot rodding alive. Good deal...
Glad to see you teaching the kids a skill and maybe carrying it on in to the future. Your a very good example of what we should all strive for. I very rarely comment on your videos but I enjoy and appreciate your work and almost always learn something new from them, thank you!!
Brent, It is always awesome to see the next generation learning this hobby/trade. Great watching you and the boys work. Andy
Great to see a new generation of future welders and fabricators. Be real sweet if they follow you into hot rods, it seems to becoming a lost art. Great job Austin.
Good to mentor these young men, if anything it builds self confidence to take on other new things. And no fear to step up when their friends are scratching their heads not knowing what to do. Austin, use one hand on stinger, and other hand as a rest. If you can prop yourself for a steady hand, makes welds easier and end result is better. You know Grandad is enjoying sharing his knowledge. This is quality time, cherish every moment! Im sure Brent does. Engine bay looks great with a little paint. Engine really looks sharp in in there.
It’s a pleasure to see Austin learning that Profession

Brent Me my wife my 2 1/2 year old daughter and 3 month old son all watch every video you drop whether it's this channel or your other channel we never miss a beat. Just want you to know it almost brings me to tears watching you teach/work with your grandkids. Everything you do is a lost art wish there were more people like you out there man. Keep up the great work and videos brother
He has a great teacher lucky young man!
Very nice to see you working with your grandson. And teach them what to do on that vehicle. I work with my dad and helped him rebuild his jobs to pick up.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Don't worry Austin. Soon your little sled will be breathing and moving under it's own power! Just keep enjoying the quality time.
Multi tasking at its best Brent painting . teaching looking after the boys and drinking . A man of many talents ,keep it up
Brent and Austin thumbs up for a great family time content. Going to be one cool car when it is done. Take care.
That van has a lot of free sheet metal and glass that can be cut down for project cars . Always great to see the grand kids learning to turn wrenches. Thanks for another wonderful video.
Great job Gentlemen! Austin is going to have one sweet ride when he gets it finished! Hats off to Grandad for teaching a skill that will never be forgotten!
My welding hasn't caught up with my semi-professional grinding ability. Good job Austin
Its a struggle at first but when the bug hits him, mechanicing will be in his blood and then outcomes the man. I do love the T Bird going in the shop... Kind of hope its a builder and not just a pieces and parts
Cool. The apples don't fall far from the granddaddy tree...
Hi Brent . This is a great experience & opportunity to learn and gain knowledge under your guidance and later drive with pride and responsibility appreciating the hard work that is going into bringing the Buick back to life 👍👨🏼🔧🔧⚒🛠🇨🇦💥
Just set it on burn, and let him cook it! How funny! He had a lot of "sizzling bacon" going on for his lack of experience! Great job mentoring, Brent! Thanks for sharing! Bro Harry
Glad to see you have Austin do the work and learn !
It's good to see young people wanting to learn car stuff!
Can’t wait to see you in the new shop. you’ll have several projects going on at the same time under the same roof 🛠🇺🇸🛠
It's good your teaching him he will appreciate his first car better knowing he helped build it
Best grandpa!🙂
Excellent!!! Best thing you built were memories!!!
вы все молодцы.не остонавливайтесь на достигнутом,будте творцами в своей жизни,желаю вам удачи в ваших делах
Brent is being smart by letting Austin weld on his own car if not austin will never learn , that's how i taught my own sons , austin will learn more by experience in my opinion.
I welded for several years and I am impressed for his first time.
I just love it when we get to see your grandkids there not to worry right now it’s so nice to see them learning from their grandpa yeah, it would be nice to see more of you Astor
Wouldn’t it great to see the brothers team up to build a few vehicles with Uncle Brent directing traffic! Hope the guys find this hobby fun and enjoyable. 👍
Another lucky grandson. He's learning from one of the best
Brent excel in building cars. And as a grandpa too, Austin is a lucky kid ! Brent, you're lucky too, to be able to share your passion. Cool !
Brent! So nice you take the time to help Austin with his project. It is really starting to take shape. I think it will be really cool when it’s up and running. Great Job fellows!! Stay safe 😀😀
Austin you have a great mentor and also a sweet ride. Enjoy
The old Buick is cleaning up quite well. It already looks newer with the hood open.
Thanks CowDog for guarding the garage door while you guys were painting the engine compartment!
Great stuff men !! Thank you all for sharing your journey !!! Austin did a great job on lowering the forks when installing the engine !!! Not an easy job if you are not familiar with the hydraulic controls on that particular machine. Job well done !!!! God bless you all and keep you safe !!!! Eddy
I wish I would have learned this kind of stuff when I was young.
Great to see you teaching Austin and see the excitement in his face as always great video
His welding is pretty good for the 1st time, definitely seen worse and right before the video shows him welding in the engine bay I was thinking he could probably get better from inside there instead of leaning in over the core support. Keep up the great work austin
This is an excellent video, it is a pleasure watching you with your grandsons and watching you teach Austin the tricks of the trade.
Nice to see you teaching him that Miller Lite metal work 😅! Looks like he’s getting the hang of the welder!
I've only done a few engine swaps, late 60's and early 70's. For me, the hardest part was getting the Hood back on and Aligned.
The skills that Austin is learning will last a life time.
That is going to be one awesome high school ride!!!.....
You are very good teaching your grandson how to work on cars
Got yourself a good apprentice
It is so good to see you teaching Austin all the rudementery aspects of life as a mechanic . He is showing promise , except when he stands with his hands in his pockets , I guess he will overcome that habit in time . Thank you for making this video , Stuart in Ontario .. Ps . I didn't mean any disrespect by my comment, Its just my upbringing . ( victorian parents very old school ) .
The side marker lights on that van will fit 67-72 Chevy c-10 trucks
I would love to have those dog dish hubcaps on that van
Impressive! Beer box CAD spanning 3 generations.
Sharp looking Buick Special ! Is that his first car ? if so nice start ! It pays to have grandpa having cool stuff for you ! Some glass some gas some tires and light the fires and gooooo !

Haha yeah his first car.
Your a great teacher Brent!
You're the man Brent. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with the X'ers . Thank you for letting me learn more.
Just a little history. 1955 was a banner year for Buick at 750,000+ units. It exceed Buick's production capacities and they had several serious quailty issues. It really hurt the Buick brand for years to come. They had rearend failures and oil consumption issues. The factor fix for the oil consumption was to add BonAmi to the oil and run it a couple hundred miles to get rings to seat. The rear ends had to be rebuilt or replaced. There were other less serious problems too. Nice to see a young man without a ring in his nose or holes in his earlobes. Go boy!
Brent, that is a '55 Buick. Great project for Austin! Something different than the usual tri-five Chevy.
Great to see Austin in the shop learning from the master. Skills he'll be able to use the rest of his life. Jobs well done. Great video. Be safe and stay well.
It is nice to see you working with your grandsons on cars in your garage . I have a big shop with welders about any thing to work on a car or restore one with and none of my boys or grandsons seem to want to help. I am currently building a rat rod out of a 1988 S10.
Well done Austin. You will get better and better in building these cars. And best of all... “you have a great teacher...best to you Austin”.
Very good of you sir Brent showing the grandson how a little work can get you a ride.Austin and Ryder are lucky boy's that you are taking the time to teach a little hands on .Great video well done guy's
