Traffic sucks in LA because it's a city that prioritizes car transportation over any other type, not because we don't have flying cars.
3:50 - flying(?)-motorcycle 10:30 - burning man expat 12:45 - rocket club 17:05 - rocket club - the virgin 21:12 - finally interesting 26:20 - "a cell phone camera is good enough for a autonomous car", maybe.

I’d say interesting from 12:45. Even if you don’t know a lot about rockets, you’ve got to acknowledge the fact that a team of 25 to 40 people got together, designed, built and launched a functioning rocket. I imagine they’ll all be with Space X or NASA in a few years.

Videos like this remind me of why i need to continue being creative and innovative in spite of all that is going on around me. Am glad i came across this. Thank you Bloomberg

Thanks... i'm 5 min into it and still just ass kissing and bullshit. Better skip it, I don't know why these people who make the videos think THEY are so amazing that we want to listen to all that bull instead of going directly to the freaking point and showing what the title says.

It is cool that the young generation likes to innovate their dreams. As long as they do it with responsibility then they must build their dreams.

Major intro correction: wind generators will not spin and spin and spin, They have a life span of 30 - 50 yrs. and without regular maintenance from the people no longer there, even less. Could have easily said , even after all the wind generates have died and their power capabilities have vanished....
The flying car thing is a misnomer, most people mean "electric autonomous passenger carrying flying machines." True flying cars will exist but as a niche vehicle, people really want something to bypass the congested ground traffic, some sort of small automated flying craft to pick you up at home and drop you off at work is what we will end up with eventually because that's what the average commuter wants. They will be fast and much safer than ground transportation.
@30:55 "but once money got involved and expectations got in... it just became stupid." Currency is the leading cause of disinterest and absurdity in most aspects of life, not just work, but also play. Our policies in America are both counterproductive and disruptive toward the quality of life for practically all people around the globe. The Federal Reserve Act should be repealed, I think. For Virgin Galactic, it is all about Richard Branson, no mention of Burt Rutan who is the inventor, the engineer and the creator of the whole idea. Branson came in afterwards and just put money into it. This is so unfair.

Great reporting! Enjoyed watching this thanks for sharing
The problem with flying cars is that humans sort of suck at flying. Especially at landing safely.
5:50 there are two mona lisa. One is on display at the louvre and the other one is in a private collection and known to have been started but not finished by Leonardo.
5:48 Actually, I believe that DaVinci created several versions of the "Mona Lisa". But, only, one version gained prominence! (It was rumored, there is a joke, behind the Mona Lisa. That, it's actually a self-portrait of DaVinci, himself. Not a female.
Another great episode. Love it.
"windmills" LOL
does anyone know what the music is at2:28 and where I can find it?
"This used to be an Indian crossing." Pyramid and all seeing eye is seated down there today. lol
"there it is the cloud of dust" LOL
Excellent post, thanks. We might have to look back at this in a few years to see how things have panned out.
wow!! the progress we have made in 5 years is crazy
I'm overwhelmed with curiosity, being an Air Force veteran. Gotta get in . . . on this ! 😎
"In the hierarchy of nerd needs, a flying car remains a must have" 5:05 nailed it man😂😂🤣
The flying-car man said that all birds could walk. Hummingbirds can't walk or hop, though their feet can be used to scoot sideways while they are perched.
Thank you for the great video. I like the spirit of the 'eccentrics' and am amazed at the ability of Mr. Hotz to create something so impressive on his own in ANY time frame, let alone in a matter of months. I also sympathize with his view expressed at 30:52 that once other peoples expectations became involved, as Mr. B.B. King would say, 'the thrill is gone'. But, given that he's already endured the wrath of attorneys, he likely has the tenacity to continue.

At 29:43 He needs to invest in a better low light camera sensor like the 1 found in the Sony A7s 1 and 2. That sensor can turn night to day with a low noise floor. Basically the car will see in the dark.

I would argue that if your long-travel coilovers are not getting warm from the amount of movement they are doing, you ain't driving the right terrain or you ain't driving fast enough. An off road hot rod is an idea that gives me tingles like ASMR. Okay, not really, it doesn't give me tingles, but I do love the idea of that :)
5:59 Single point of failure is the propeller coupling which joins the passenger section and the rear motor section. Drive over a speed bump and this thing is breaking. Terrible design.

Thanks For The Inspiration, What You're Doing Here MATTERS (To me for a start) :-) Thank You
The experts say ,they will never be a self driving car ,and there it is,in Las Vegas !!!
For the College kids, it is not about building a flying Rocket. It is about learning to work as part of a team to accomplish a goal, or at least strive for one. You need to acknowledge that.
Great show
My hat is off to the guy who invented a go-cart. And the guy that invented a dune buggy? Unbelievable!
Damn Mouse is a legend, I remember him from Dust to Glory.
The difference in flying insects and birds than humans is the these critters have wings and it is natural for them to fly . But on the ground they are much slower .
The spirit of Burt Munro is in there somewhere .
With shocks and linkage like that u would need a computer sorting things out, sometimes simpler is better.
5:48, I want to fact-check myself. There is a more, recent claim, that DaVinci painted only two versions of the "Mona Lisa". However, There are several versions that were created back then. Perhaps, by other artists. The art community, back then was pretty tightknit community. For example, I am pretty sure that DaVinci and MichaelAngelo were close associates!
People can’t even take car of their cars that stay on the ground. Imagine idiots trying to fly over your house with a vehicle that’s years past due for an oil change or major repair

In early 2016 I built the frame of a 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steer pedal kart. I had to stop because of a flare up of the Lyme disease I have. My design is very unique as i haven’t seen anything else like it. I wish I had more money so I could finish building the multiple speed power train. I’d like to get patents on it and manufacture it.
A bigger Stereo , Yes :) QC
50+ years since NASA landed and put the 1st man on the moon.... supposedly. This evolutionary quest for reaching outer space sure is taking a bloody long time. It's as if the Apollo programme was like magic. Maybe movie magic?
29:42 this is why infrared technology should be integrated.... and mix the two for telling the car what it is seeing.
He cannot stop shaking his head when he’s listening to anyone.
Great episode facing the future!
Darren hopped up on Monster's at 3 am 😳 Darren's mom: Go to sleep Darren!!!
ooooor you could just move out of LA... (never thought of that)
Would be interesting to see a 3d printed car operate and see how it can hold up
its putting in what counts over time the experience building that sense of pragmatism that counts no idea is too big or too small its the dedication the hard work behind it that counts over time. genius is one percent innovation and 99 percent perspiration.
"the flying car is the coolest thing the world could ever have... until your neighbor has one..." think about that for a bit... yeah,
Let's not forget that those desert hot rods are powered by German Aircooled power!!!!!
40 secs in and im tapping out lol
Cheering up Hotz....Lets just see what happens. LOL!!
Bloomberg has been putting out some absolutely amazing videos lately. This is not one of them.
I think the word "genius" is thrown around a bit to lightly.
BRAVO! Doing things to see it done!
1:20 yeah basically
KKND2 Krossfire intro reference :)
hey man maybe an infra-red or an uv camera might be able to solve the problem with those shadows on the road and even night time
8:20 if house bricks flutter, then yeah they flutter
Pure passion it is!!!
Look Mom...I invented a motorcycle that is twice as big as any other Motorcycle, doesn't go Fast, Looks stupid, and costs 4 times as much as an Olde Motorcycle.
They made a Silicon Valley in Palo Alto, why not A Rocket Valley in Mohave?
*Sitting 8 inches from a huge propeller is a little unnerving.*
