Twenty-five years ago, the Environmental Change Institute (then Unit) opened its doors at the University of Oxford for the very first time. Over the ensuing years the ECI has flourished, becoming a pioneering force at the frontier of interdisciplinary environmental research, education and outreach. From Professor Andrew Goudie’s original idea, through to the vibrant and dynamic research institute where we find ourselves today, 'Welcome to the ECI-system' tells the story of the ECI's evolution over the last 25 years and takes a closer look at the variety of work carried out by its team of over 90 researchers and 70 graduate students.
