Welcome to Pure Michigan

This is a state imbued with the riches of unspoiled nature: the nation's longest freshwater coastline, lakes that feel like oceans, shimmering beaches, miles and miles of orchards, glorious sunrises and sunsets, daytime skies of the deepest blue, and nighttime skies scattered with stars.
Michigan offers a near infinite array of authentic-America moments that live forever in memory. It's what we call "Pure Michigan". Your trip begins at www.michigan.org/

I think it's because of Detroit or Flint so some ppl assume that the whole state is like that. Other than that, Michigan seems like a great place especially since it has forests and tons of lakes! Also fall foliage 🍁🍂

From I-75 N into Detroit. Continue North on 75 a couple hrs north then a little west to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park & the Grand Traverse Bay area. Back to 75 north to Mackinac City/Mackinac Island for tourist activities. Continue north across the bridge into the Upper Peninsula. Bring mosquito repellent and map because cell and GPS are spotty. Go to Tahquamenon Falls State Park, White Fish Point and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Keep going West to Copper Harbor and Isle Royal National Park or turn around there and back to I-75 south for 5 or 6 hours back. Can be done in a week and on a variety of budgets, camping, RV, Car and Hotels. Probably shouldn't camp south of 8 Mile Rd. but anywhere else should be ok.
