Welcome to my wild garden
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This time of the year my garden is a bit wild, and I can’t wait to see the sharp yew hedges when Preben - my gardener - have clipped them. They give so much structure to the garden. In few days he will start and in next week I will show you how it looks.
Today I’m talking about tall plants, roses and also some wild flowers. I will also take you on a tour to Great Dixter in the South of England. Welcome …
My name is Claus Dalby, and I live in Risskov on the outskirts of Aarhus in Denmark. To date, I have written about 30 books on flowers and gardens in Danish, and my garden has been featured on many TV shows. In March 2022 my first book in English will be available. I consider my home (built in1908), and its garden with its neighboring wood, as my sanctuary. When I started gardening in 1996, there was just a large lawn covering approximately 1 acre (4,000 square meters), but today the grass is long gone - replaced by 15 hedged rooms with varying colors and moods. Additionally, one of my great passions is growing in pots, arranged to create spectacular container gardens, which I will share quite a bit about on this channel. Decor and creating moods have always interested me - both outside and inside - and I love to use the flowers from my garden for bouquets and to inspire other crafts that create a sense of hygge.

I can't remain silent. I am writing through a translator. Your garden combines both classic and natural design. Such harmony. Thank you from Russia.

You are absolutely correct in your praise of Great Dixter. It is unique and bewitching. It also has such a feeling of soul and it hugs at your heart. It is so personal and filled with the spirit of Christopher Lloyd. No garden ruled by a committee can compare with such a creation. I think that is also why Iove your garden so much. I feel your personality in your choice of planting material and its position in the garden. I can hardly wait to see your next video.

I've been blessed to visit Great Dixter twice and have been thinking your garden reminds me of it ... with your low clipped hedges and informal arrangement of plants within. I absolutely loved Great Dixter and hope to see it again one day. Thank you for your beautiful video.

Thank you for sharing! Such joy to walk around your garden and the Great Dixter. I learn a lot from both gardens. I like your use of tall plants and will google that unique one! What is the tall slender flower next to your Ambassador Alliums? It looks like pale pink, maybe Burnet?

Beautiful garden! Is that a Meadow Rue at 11:36 mark? I bought the ONLY one at a local Nursery last year. Such a beautiful plant with the dark almost black stem and the blooms remind me of an allium. Not sure if it is rare in the USA zone 6b. I have never seen or heard about it anywhere else. Cheers! 🌸
