When Mayak starts playing...oof, gives me the chills

The song Mayak (Lighthouse) was by Ukrainian band "The Hardkiss": the lead singer Julia Sanina is one of the Eurovision hosts this year, and the guitar player is her husband Val Bebko (co-founder, co-songwriter (with Julia) of "The Hardkiss", and multi-instrumentalist). This band is fantastic and has such brilliant music videos, which are very creative and different from each other in style. Highly recommended to enjoy! :)

100 % agree!! They are 🔥🔥🔥 As from a person, who loves The Beatles, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Guns n 🌹🌹s and others! Higly recommend to listen to The Hardkiss. Songs like "Кобра", "Маяк", "Makeup", "In love" and others. Pure joy!!

I’m from Liverpool and I reacted a bit like that kid 😂 - I was in work but watched the announcement and actually screamed out loud. This has been the most fantastic week of my life I’ve had a holiday in my home city and met people from everywhere and it’s been beautiful. I also went to semi final 1 preview and saw this performance! Liverpool is the greatest (I am biased) ❤

The video that children and ordinary people in Liverpool are participating, as well as the King of the United Kingdom, made me just cry and pride that Ukraine is Britain together! and the most superb opening of Eurovision 2023 is simply amazing with HARDKISS!

The first part with kids is 'together in Electric Dreams' from the movie 'Electric Deams' (1984) by Giorgio Moroder. The 'Rock' part is 'Mayak' by the ukrainian band 'The Hardkiss'.

The boy and the girl were symbolic of Britain and Ukraine working together “no matter where I go, I’ll never find a better prize….. although you’re miles and miles away I see you every day…”. Notice the girl wrote “Welcome to Liverpool” in English and Ukrainian on the whiteboard. I read somewhere that the girl actually has an English mother and Ukrainian father. Yes, that was Paul O’Grady in the clip. RIP.

Amazing Opening. Better than some Grand final in last years... Emotional ans powerfull. Great job HARDKISS and Julia Slanina. Mayak ( LIGHTHOUSE) IS one of lasy fresh singles of HARDKISS. POWERFULL... ❤❤❤❤❤ Ps . Julia is brillant esc 2023. I hear about Hardkiss before but now? I love. I am listem all songs from Hardkiss and amazing and beautiful Julia Sanina ❤ Oh that guitar... As does the boy (Britain) that brings the girl (Ukraine) to his side.
