I highly suggest that you check out the Outdoor art which is Rock Garden at Chandigarh, Punjab, India made by Nek Chand (pronounced as Nache (as in headache). It is a famous local tourist spot. Chand also got Padma Shri (fourth highest civilian award) for his work. P.S Always love your work, I was hoping for the Vermeer's to show up. Thank you (recomment)

Thanks for this. I've never really understood what makes one painting better than another so your videos have been enlightening. One work of art that has always drawn me though is Girl with a Pearl Earring. But I've never been able to put my finger on why. I'd love to see a video on that even though it seems you are doing a different Vermeer work as well.

I love Goya's black paintings. Looking forward to that. I really love Alfons Mucha, mostly for his art nouveau work, but I'd love an in-depth look at his Slav Epic. However, I udnerstand that that might be a bit much for a fifteen minute time frame. Anyway, I really love the work you do. Please keep it up. Making fine art accessible to a broader audience is a wonderful thing :)

Mr Payne I cannot, with these words, explain how much I love what you are doing and how much I respect your channel and your videos. I had no interest in art, let alone classical ones. And yet, all I did was dedicate 15 minutes to the Guernica video and that! has opened a new world to me. Now I find myself looking at anonymous pieces of art, and ask myself- "What did the artist went through when he picked up the brush? What does this deliberate saturation in this corner signify? Maybe, I can interpret this one in a different way?" And all because of your efforts. YOUR love for art and literature was heard by me loud and clear in those 15 mins, and I was entranced. I look forward to each and every video you will put out!

You, my very kind sir, are filling in the gaps in my knowledge ( gaps which are vast, empty and desolate places ) with the most wonderful information about some of our entire cultures history in paintings. Can't wait for your next projects! Thanks to your channel I developed new ways of looking and appreciating art, the most awe inspiring piece being Vigeland's Park from Oslo. The statues in the park are lifelike representations of simple moments from our ephemeral life (with some weird ones). If you can, here are some of my favorite artworks that I'd love to hear about: "The Pietà" and "The Creation Of Adam" by Michelangelo, "Mars Venus and Amor" by Titian, and "Fallen Angel" by Alexandre Cabanel (that last one particularly intrigued me because of its recent spike in popularity among modern fandoms, similar to Klimt's The Kiss) On another note, thank you for making this channel. I've learned a great deal about art and art history through you, and you've given me a much deeper appreciation for paintings that I might've already seen a lot in pop culture before (Mona Lisa, Starry Night, The Kiss, Birth Of Venus, etc.) as well as exploring art I've never seen before. Your channel is a “must follow” for art lovers. It’s a source of deep and masterful insight about masterpieces and their creators-all in about 15minutes or so-providing fresh understanding and appreciation of these timeless works of art. May I suggest you consider covering the great Christian cathedrals and basilicas of Europe-with their fascinating history, architecture and laden with sculptures, paintings and other iconography-they’re really akin to art museums with a religious/spiritual theme. Thank you so much for all you do in this channel.

Thank u for the channel. I thought, that it’s might on impossible to talk about art so fast (only for 3 minutes) , but this elevator speech format is really exceptional. I get the impression, that the author is intelligent and so interested in art. So glad to spotted this channel, I’ll be your permanent guest for ages 📎

I really cannot thank you enough for educating me on many of these artworks. I've been lucky enough to travel Europe recently and have gone out of my way to visit many of the pieces you've covered in your series. There's a way you deliver your script which engages me more than art classes from high school ever did. This is a long shot, but I would love it if you could cover indigenous Australian artists. Like the works of Albert Namatjira, Tracey Moffat or Emily Kame Kngwarreye. All three artists cover entire spectrums of art styles and have fascinating stories to tell.

This channel is indeed one of trhe best on KZread. I love that art is the main focus, and, as James describes, that there is no sensationalism. I am looking forward to the next episodes. I was in particular hoping for an episode about Vigée Le Brun, it is coming. I could not be more excited.

First of all thank you for your wonderful videos. My wish would be to se a side series of the different movements like impressionism, surrealism etc. Describing the backgrounds and also common motives. Personally I struggle to really appreciate and understand the modern paintings. I'm sure after your explanation it would be easier. Thanks again! Your work is relevant!

Please do a video dedicated to El Greco's Opening of the Fifth Seal! I'd love to hear you take on his style of painting during the Renaissance, use of light and color as well as influence on impressionists 😁
