THIS. THIS is how you do a retro-styled FPS. With lovingly designed levels, satisfying weapons, enemies with good AI (I'm looking at you, Strafe), and an amount of gore that's actually similar to what games of the time had.

You might be right. But so far the last two Quake games they delivered were arena shooters, Quake Live (Quake 3 reboot without single-player) and Quake Champions. If you are right, that Quake 5 will be another Quake 1/2/4-like game, then that'll restore my faith in newer Quake games. I never was a fan of arena shooting, I preferred killing monsters with friends via co-op.

Since you play the original Quake, have you seen that Arcane Dimensions mod? Probably one of the most ambitious and satisfyingly good mods ever made. It really nails what Quake design is all about.

Oh, that old-school shooter with crazy backflips! Man, the game looks even better now. Love the graphics and gameplay!

"Needless options" gives only 100 points of sensitivity customization

Still just as badass. I cannot wait to see multiplayer. Glad to see that this game is legitimately looking like a real old school shooter similar to games like Quake, rather than being "old school" just by style.

Been following this game for a bit now, goddamn it's beautiful. And what's this I see about a multiplayer at Quakecon? Fuck yes.

i love how this trailer is relatively tame compared to the final product and mayhem that happens there yet it still so intense on its own

Dudes, i just want to say that you are the only ones doing old school stuff and i love it! KEEP THE GOOD WORK! Greetings from Chile PS: it doesn't sound old school but... a good idea (for me at least) is ragdoll suport on a later patch or something like that... i'm really a fan of over the top ragdoll physics like in Max Payne 2

The second I saw that you can do flips in the first trailer I was sold. Good job.

1 year later and I still come back, mainly for the song butt I still enjoy looking at this gem

Its games like this that help restore my faith in gaming.

It would be awesome if stephan weyte(caleb's voice-actor from BLOOD) make one liners for this game, you know, being the main voice-actor.

This sure brings me back to 1997 with fond memories, but sadly old school FPS games make me motion sickness the older I get, whenever I replay Quake 2 will always give me a horrible motion sickness that I end up almost throwing up. Still look tempting to buy this though
