People cant think in form of hard cap money supply. They feel investing must have a stable price in terms of what money can buy in order to calculate risk. But who determines what basket of goods money needs to be priced to? Just doing this is already a gross disruptuve action against markets. Also if you have a set supply of money people actually build savings instead of debt, and this savings is used for investment negating the need for ever more debt. As far as just creating all 21million bitcoin now and giving a certain amount to everyone, well who determines this action and how exactly you get it to everyone? And you still need to secure the network so you still need a security force tied to the system...and in bitcoin that is the miners and nodes that choose which version of bitcoin to run. EVERYTHING is tied to energy, so who decides what is a good use of energy? ... You do....by either saving or spending bitcoin. Otherwise you have corruptable authority structures that will decide for all how money/energy is used.

Could somebody honestly explain how the price of Bitcoin goes down? It seems it should stay at its most recent high and go only up - always , bc there is no way to “short” Bitcoin that I’m aware of. It’s not a stock , and if you can short it - how ? I’ve looked and looked and have not found an answer to this.

The price goes down after a bull market because people take profits and usually a lot of it! This floods the market with a lot of bitcoin, driving the price back down during the bear market. It’s basically a case of supply and demand. During the halving event, which occurs every 4 years, the number of BTC that can be mined is cut by half. This creates less supply and therefore drives up the price up. During each of these cycles the highs get higher and the lows also get higher. In the US you can short Bitcoin on the futures market if you’re a trader and want to take that risk. The best move is to buy BTC and hold for at least one four year cycle though.
