I am a Yamaha keyboard player, therefore Yamaha all the way. I was able to sample a Nord earlier thi year and it was all right. I know that many churches like Nord, but I get all I need from Yamaha and cheaper! Thank you for your review and stay blessed in Jesus' name.

Awesome keyboard. I bought the Nord Stage 4 88-key when it released earlier this year. It is phenomenal. A "glorified midi controller" it is not. I would argue that paying nearly $6k for an instrument only to use it as a controller is a huge waste. With the Stage 4 I can do what required three or more instruments previously. I'm just now getting into its MIDI capabilities; programmable and routeable "per program". A beautiful instrument for sure. When the Montage M series was introduced it definitely caught my attention. I think I'll someday pair a M7 with the NS4, which should be a fairly unbeatable combination.

Kell, I Love It. I just sold my Montage 8 and bought the Montage M8x. I'm a pianist and my studies for 5 years were on 7 and 9-foot grand pianos by Yamahas and Steinway. Yamaha has always done the best job at capturing the grand piano feel. that's the NUMBER one seller for me, that feel of that board, the montage M8x nailed it with a wooden keybed, OMG the dexterity is awsome on that board. Being able to manipulate your sound in a more precise way is clutch. I'm blown away at those pianos and synths.

Congrats on the new board. I’m still rocking with a Motif ES 88 at the church I play at 😂. I have a iPad rig and run Pianoteq and MKSENSATION using the ES88 as a controller. Keep up the great work my brother. God Bless and Happy Holidays!

Congrats. I’ve thought about upgrading to Montage M8. Mainly because of the coming full functioning VSTi version of it. Biggest selling point to me.

Happy for you! now since you have the Montage you can buy VGSG and load it into your board, and not have to use a bunch of racks, and you can load nord sounds.

Thanks Kell for this video. I'm currently thinking to switch to Montage 8 and now checking through Montage features to be sure it mactches my style of stage performance. I have two questions: 1. Is it possible to create custom styles or rhythms that can be used in the accompaniment? 2. Is it possible to create an acoustic guitar strumming pattern in one of the tracks of a style/rhythm? If you have two keyboard players the Montage M8X and Nord Stage 4 will make incredible sounds together. This is a Keyboard musician dream to have access to both boards at the same time.

I wish it was that simple to replace gear at my church 😅. It's atleast a 6-9 month period with many conversations.

Can you make a list of the equipment you use to record/stream yourself and the band in your church services? I’m trying to get into that for reviewing services and seeing where we need to grow…any info would be a great blessing…thank you in advance

I just bought one and it the best I’ve ever felt. One thing I would like better is make the Black Keys a little shorter which makes us piano players quicker. I’m thinking 1/16 cut it lower

What's the polyphony? I've found that Yamaha's polyphony is stuck in the 1900's at 128 notes. When i stack sounds, it suffers.

Stay tuned for a updated video to provide clarity! The montage was for a different location to replace a 2002 motif! it just so happened that they want the montage to stay at this location. SO therefore the nord replaced the motif at our other location.

The crux of this conversation is that the original comment is written by someone with a heart issue, and they’re using this man’s video to project their internal fear of letting go of their money. If you’re afraid that your offering is going towards “scammers”, then you need to question your faith and maybe your church if there’s evidence to your fear.

Lol maybe the pianos are the same. With that being said I still stand on my original thoughts. The original montage “feel/keybed” was a dealbreaker. That made me hate the board. Also keep watching I plan on going crazy with the sound design on this board. It’s to powerful just to use 3 sounds.
