Honestly, I think the Apache .27 Cal has potential in modernized form. Make the blade where it instead slides out the bottom with a pin (Like the Modern Bayonet on the Stinger), Make the trigger one that rotates out with a dial and keep the folding out Brass Knuckle function as is and you have what could be a viable self-defense option.

Those curving barrels would have to be specially made. But the material and shape of the part the bullet hits could prevent bullet premature fragmentation and send it out the end in one piece… It would work only at close range situations. Bending a regular barrel was stupid. It could fragment the barrel and kill the shooter…

Actually, you can curve bullets through PVC pipe. The severity of the turn is what dictates fragmentation. A large enough arch could allow a barrel to curve 360°, without breakup. Multiple curves are possible as well, provided the curves are large enough.

Krummlauf was invented for tank crews. Some of German tanks and SPGs didn't have machine guns, so they were very vulnerable to infantry attacks which was evident in the Battle of Kursk. Later on Germans added machine guns, but they needed a solution for units that have already produced. This was it. The fact that the bullet would fragment was desirable cos it was meant to be used from inside the tank, to hit enemy infantrymen climbing on your tank. That means very short distance and shotgun like effect were necessary. So, it was perfectly functional for its purpose. "Kamikaze animals"... Soviets tried something like that at the start of WW2. They at the moment lacked anti-tank weapons, so someone came to an idea to strap explosives on dogs trained to run under German tanks. Seemed to work until it was actually tested in combat with unexpected results... Soviets didn't have captured German tanks to train the dogs, so during the training they used Soviet tanks. Once released on the battlefield, the dogs started running under Soviet tanks, not German... As for helmet-mounted sights... The first serially produced and used were in MiG-29 jet fighter.

In 'Arma 3' the V-40 nades are near-worthless: they don't kill anyone wearing any kinda armor or even slightly armored uniforms (which even the basic NATO ones are), only causing very small wounds, and you can't destroy anything with them. The only use is to make an AI (or a noob) start patching up, thus giving you a good window to assault them. The Metal Storm, also in 'Arma 3', is something you don't wanna be on the wrong side of, they're as scary as they look+sound. ^ I couldn't find if the system was autonomous IRL (it is in game), but if it was, you can't side-step the system THAT easily cuz they'll follow, and with the 1.62M bullets a minute creating a human-sized wall of bullets, you'll be so full of holes that if something is left of you by the time the system detects you're down (or it runs outta ammo), it's gonna give ppl with hole phobia a living nightmare.

why do i suddenly want to make a segmented bullet round that after it leaves the barrel, would heat up and cause the memory metal it's made of to straighten the bullet. that it could be fired from a curved barrel... thou idk how well the round would work... the "around corner" weapons gave me the idea LOL

The weirdest weapon I've seen was in a James Bond film called Tomorrow Never Dies. Near the beginning of the film, a torpedo is fired at a ship. After a few minutes, the ship sinks. It turns out that the torpedo was a massive Philishave with the 3 rotary sections, eating its way into the ship, making big holes through walls and decks causing it to fill up with water

Metalstorm has little to do with pepper box revolvers and everything to do with the 'Roman Candle' guns. 'Roman Candle' guns were flintlocks with a lock at the breach and another near the muzzle. It would be loaded with multiple powder charges and multiple projectiles. There was a way for a charge to ignite, with a delay, the charge behind it, so triggering the front flintlock should fire all of the propellant charges, in sequence. Reliability was an issue. If all of the charges did not go off, there was no easy way to unload a partially discharged 'Roman Candle' gun. The rear flintlock was to allow the weapon to be used as a regular musket, as reloading a full sequence of charges and projectiles took too long to do under combat conditions. I remember reading the unclassified document that explained why the US military was conducting limited testing of Metalstorm technology. It included the phrasing 'there just might be a pony in there', which is a reference to the punchline of a joke. The joke: A father is terribly worried that his daughter is too optimistic and cannot grasp the harsh reality that is this uncaring universe. Wracking his brain to figure out how to break his daughter out of her irrational world view, he finally hits on a possible method and dumps a large load of horse manure into her bedroom. As he listens to her reaction to this calamity, he hears her laughing and screaming in delight. He looks into her room and sees her digging through the piled manure with a huge smile on her face. He asks "Why are you so happy?". She replies "But daddy, there has to be a pony in here, somewhere!".

There's a musket that's similar to the pepperbox revolvers in barrel quantity called the Nock Gun. Designed in 1779 by James Wilson. The gun had 7 barrels and the caliber was around 46 inches or around 12mm. It was supposed to be made for ship-to-ship combat. Though it looks odd but it has a powerful recoil and slow reload speed. Often taking around 27 to 34 seconds. Depending on the user's speed and experience with the weapon. Though it was very good and mostly killed it's opponents instantly.

@@dhararry7929 : It is illegal, to disguise weapons as harmless things, especially things like toys or in that case, a cat. Such insidious things are strictly forbidden. If someone is found with such a thing, he can be punished by death. Pretending to be dead or wounded is also forbidden, like wearing the uniform or using the flag of the enemy. If someone dosn't wear a uniform oder a badge of the party he ist fighting for, he ist considered as an illegal combatant and can be executed as well. If one ist going to war, he should inform himself about the rules.
