I was thinking that's one reason I don't want them to remake this (or the TV show). I like having the older technology for just this reason! The computer and science were just "magic" for screenwriters!

"I called her every night for like a month!" "On the telephone?" "What's this man talkin bout 'on the telephone'?! We know there's a telephone!" "Explain it to him..." Blind Dog bourbon drunk Anthony Michael Hall is so funny! I use "Gimme the keys! I'll drive!" whenever possible.

That must have been a chore! SNL cast members consider him to be the worst host of all time because of his lack of sense of humor. I know he was "pretty" back in the day, but I could never be with a guy who couldn't make me laugh.
26:11 Fun fact. The head mutant biker is played by Vernon Wells, who was sort of reprising his role as the mad biker Wez from ‘Mad Max: The Road Warrior’ (he’s the guy in the movie with the assless chaps). If you look closely while he and his chained woman are leaving the house, you can see that he’s still wearing assless chaps! 😂
"So, what would you little maniacs like to do first?" Fun Fact: John Hughes wrote the script in only two days. That's Hot Fact: In the shower scene, Kelly LeBrock was wearing a bikini bottom, with her nipples covered with black tape. Casting Notes Fact: Vernon Wells said his first time visiting America was when he filmed his part in this movie. After filming wrapped, he signed on as another villain in Commando (1985). Pork Sandwich Fact: According to Bill Paxton, Chet's line "How about a nice greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray?" was based on something his father John Paxton used to say to him when Bill was hungover from a night of drinking. Computer Enthusiast Fact: Wyatt's (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) computer is a Memotech MTX512, with an FDX add-on. The computer was modified to add a large "ENTER" key with blinking red lights for the dramatic close-up key-pressing shot. Kelly LeBrock's character name was inspired by Apple Computer's first GUI computer, the Apple Lisa.
My favorite thing about this movie is that characters from Mad Max show up to the party.
My parents took me to see this in the theater. I was 7 and I had questions after this. My dad used to watch this movie on repeat because he loved Kelly LeBrock (Lisa).
The 80s were such a great time :)

We were happier because out parents weren't so stressed as everyone is now, for one. We played outside until curfew, with energy to spare on the rare nights we got to stay outside late; I don't ever remember being too tired to keep playing . We interacted with people directly. The world was literally less warm, so we were all just had a bit more energy. Most of us saw the same movies and TV shows. We had more in common just in general, and we were mostly optimistic and inclusive.
Your boy Anthony Hall is in Edward Scissorhands. Great movie

The main biker guy was one of the villians in the second Mad Max movie, this is basically the same character.
The song was by Oingo Boingo, Danny Elfman's band. Elfman's composes almost all of Tim Burton's films.
“He doesn’t stand for baloney” her delivery always makes me laugh..
Near Dark is another amazing Bill Paxton performance. It's a movie best to go into completely blind outside of it being an 80's classic that needs more love & it's by the director of Point Break, Hurt Locker & more.
The actress who plays Lisa was in the Pantene shampoo ads. Model Kelly LeBrock would look at the camera and say, “Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.”
The guy in the bar that said.."in the family jewels?"...is the same guy in the opening scene with the garbage truck in The Terminator
LOVED this era of 80s films! Good fun, smut and absolutely inappropriate and hilarious!!! People younger than 30 these days generally hate these kinds of films and it blows my mind because I grew up on them and have such a soft spot for them. I am so glad you watched it my dude! AND Kelly LeBrock was such a gorgeous woman in this film. Pure beauty, all natural. So much fun with this!
"She's a thug"😂 😂😂 & Michael Anthony Hall " might be the white" Samuel Jackson 🤣 I just can't with you 😅
Since everyones throwing out the fun facts… one of the guys at the bar is I think his name is John kepelos, he played the janitor in breakfast club and the oily bo-hunk husband in 16 candles. Also, kid got a little enthusiastic in the kissing scene between Lisa and Wyatt- stuck his tongue in her mouth- so Kelly LeBrock pulled him aside and threatened to kick his arse if he ever tried it on again. Chet’s line about the greasy pork sandwich in a dirty ashtray is his own contribution… it’s what his dad used to say to him to gross him out when he came home with a hangover as a youngster. 😁

The actors being 16/17 and Kelly being 25 really brings out the awkwardness of the whole premise haha. The fact the movie leaned into that so well made it so much better than I expected.
Oh hai, puberty movie!
I grew up in southern Ohio and we used the word "hussy". If we wanted to put a Kentucky Accent on it, we'd say "huzzy"! 😉
Man I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED watching this reaction with you man! I saw this as a teenager back in the 80s and you brought back so many memories. HILARIOUS man! 😅🤣😂🤣
this is one of your best reactions to one of my favorite movies when I was a kid ! your channel is THE BEST one on KZread. I’m a huge fan and please don’t ever stop !! 😂❤
I had a huge crush on Kelly LeBrock when this came out.
This is when I fell in love with RDJ, lol. One of my favorite movies of all time. FUN FACT: Oingo Boingo is the name of the band who sang the title song. The singer, Danny Elffman, is an amazing musical movie composer! He's did the musical score for the original Batman w/Michael Keaton; Basically all of Tim Burton movies. He's great!
Fun fact, Vernon Wells also reprised his character in the original mad Max 2 in this movie😂
Watching you review this really made my day. I was so depressed and you literally made me laugh out loud! Thank you!
Weird Science, Fast Times, Pee Wee's Big Adventure and Ferris Bueller's Day Off are on my Mt. Rushmore of 80s comedies.
Oh the BIG HAIR days. I remember well.
Liked, already subscribed and this is my comment...great reaction to a great 80's movie! Much love to your puppies.
The movie is set in the town of Shermer, Illinois. The same town The Breakfast Club is set in.
You are 100 % right! That was the guy in jail in House Party 🎉!
The big bald biker guy who was a teacher, he later got promoted to principal. That actor plays the school principal in the Motley Crue music video for Home Sweet Home.
Pleasantly surprised you watched this one! Loved this movie when I first saw it, great to see you enjoyed it.
Cue the song Tenderness by general public. That’s a staple at the end of every 80s movie.
I would like to recommend one of my favorite underrated 80s movie. And it's called mischief and it's from the year 1985. It is a Ranchi comedy or a guy's romantic comedy and It's rated R. And one of the actors is John Travolta's wife, Kelly Preston. The movie is particularly popular for a nude scene with her.
Classic!! Might as well do an 80’s run
Love this one! You always crack me up. He looked like a tadpole that forgot what to do! One of my favorite lines.
11:47 his comment during this scene about a greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray was improvised by Bill Paxton. It was something his dad told him when he was hungover.
I never watched this movie, so I’m going to check this one out🍿👍, Thanks J.

It always makes me laugh when i see a reaction of this movie. When its a lady making the reaction they almost always say that the film is "problematic" by today's standards but every guy who watches the movie always agrees they wouldve done anything to be gary and wyatt at 15 😂 Great video as always man

Fun fact: the name of both high schools in this movie and The Breakfast club, also starring Anthony Michael Hall, was Shermer High school.
The mohawked guy in the biker gang is the same guy from The Road Warrior.

Classic 80s comedy.
Here because I was going through IMDB and saw I'd given it a 9. Had to watch a reaction to remember why I gave it such a high score - I remember being surprised how much I liked it but not that I liked it THAT much haha. They really leaned into the initial discomfort of two 16 year olds with a 25 year old, and shamelessly demanded you accept "yep she's a genie", and still brought it back to the "coming out of your shell" story in a way that just worked! Maybe really an 8 plus a bonus star for creative surprise haha. Also, FYI the music video for Static Jacks "Wallflowers" is a nice homage to this. It's on Vimeo.
This is a classic! I have this in my library.
Great reaction, J! 😂
