My uncle was a secret service agent who guarded a number of former presidents, he told a lot of stories but tried to be careful on what he said. But he was a huge conservative right-wing nutjob who was very partisan. He rose to very high ranking positions.

As related by an ex Secret Service agent that shall remain nameless: 'Being assigned to a Senator's protection scout team was the best. It's a 3 man team that arrives on location a week early to secure the site. Having the local police at your command and walking into say Facebook, flashing an ID and instantly having full access to anywhere including Zuck's office and bathroom was a total high. No one dare question your requests, approve the site and then party for the week. '

It sounds very counter-intuitive to have Secret Service agents so tired and worn out that they eventually burn out. Can someone like that really protect you in all situations? Wouldn't it be prudent to staff up by 25% and let people rest more?

Some years back, my linux users group hosted a talk from a Secret Service agent. The stories this guy told about the cyber security aspect of the job made guarding the president sound dull. When I say it was fascinating stuff, I don't mean fascinating only for uber-nerd programming types. I mean fascinating on a level that _anyone_ interested in crime stoties would enjoy. Even cynical code slingers and jaded sysadmins were eating this stuff up like it was grandma's Sunday dinner! We all said, "Dude, you have GOT to write a book about this stuff!" I hope he does.

How come the jogging bit has no Trump footage? Joking aside, I wonder if he is physically capable to even walk normally. Maybe the Leaning Tower of Pisa -inspired waddle is his only way forward.
