Of interest is the current Russian dictator, Putin, and his family links to the regime of the dictator Stalin. Putin's father served in one of Stalin's NKVD "Destruction Battalions" (filling mass graves?). Putin's grandfather was one of Stalin's personal chefs. He must have been a fanatical Bolshevik, to be trusted in such a position!

Time's glory is to command contending kings, To unmask falsehood, and bring truth to light.-William Shakespeare - Master of Propaganda. Britains first war-strategy is to ridicule its opponents. The Empire knows of the short sight of the peasant. Reduce access to information its even easier to move the peasant in the way you want him to go. You will never hear the British talk about their Empire. We could ridicule many English Kings & Queens, yet we dont. But thinking that we forgot the British Empires history is a mistake. We Germans are very fond of Britains history. Thats why many high Ranking Brits dont even want to start talking WW1 & WW2 anymore, especially with a German. - Macron, Merkel and the British admitted: there is no people on earth which has revised its own history as much as the Germans. There is nothing comparable in the world. - Thus: "But I, being poor (plundered and economically slaved), have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softly because you tread on my dreams." 🙂

The thing about these photos of Hitler that really strike me are that they capture an essence of him rarely illustrated in documentaries or conversations about him. Despite being a monster in a figurative sense, he was a human after all. He engaged in totally normal, mundane, even funny activities like the rest of us do or have. I bet he found joy in small things like a cup of coffee or petting a dog. Monsters are totally created, not born like that. I know it’s almost sacrilege to think of people like him in that way, but to understand evil people you really need to look at them from a human perspective. These help with that and, in that sense, are very powerful. Thanks, Mark.

Thanks to Hollywood, we have a completely distorted idea of Germans during the war. In the movies, everyone is elegant, athletic and handsome. In fact, the uniforms were poorly made, the Germans were short and obese with plebeian faces.

In seeing great monsters, like Hitler, as human it only highlights how truly monstrous they are. Just as you may enjoy the simple things, so did this man. This man, who from one perspective is similar to any other man, also had the capacity to lead one of the most brutal are terrifying regimes of the last century. Any one of us may be a stones throw from unbelievably heinous actions.

You are right, monsters are created. In this case, by propaganda from two sides. Do you really think you would have such a strong opinion of Hitler or the nazi's without being brought up on allied propaganda? And do you imagine Hitler would have so confidently brought terrors on countless humans without his own propaganda making him feel untouchable?
