These ads from the late 80's and 90's are absolute comedy gold purely because of how weird and bizarre they are. They are blursed ads, they are kind of entertaining but they can also be the stuff of nightmares.

I have no idea how effective 90s commercials were, but oh boy are they more fun to watch for a laugh than modern commercials

Ah yes, "Mario Negotiating an Arms Deal". My favorite Mario game, where if he lose, he starts WW3.

Seriously, though. The Mario Odyssey commercial is super effective. That's what made me seriously want the game.

There’s like actually a pretty interesting thing about how American dairy corporations made so many commercials like the one Peebs watched here, because they just bought up and stockpiled literally so much milk and had to find ways to sell it. You know those studies that say milk makes your bones stronger? They were funded by dairy corporations in order to make milk seem healthier to public, and therefore they could make more profits off milk. It’s just this crazy rabbit hole. Something similar happened with corn syrup I think.

Not surprisingly most government stocks are reliant on extremely large dairy companies too. Canada has a similar thing with the Maple Syrup vaults, and actually a pretty infamous maple syrup heist. Capitalism at its finest.

I've seen some PlayStation commercials where the person slowly goes from playing on their couch to physically battling monsters from the game they're playing. So there are still commercials like that.

12:35 I was waiting for that one. Milk had weird commercials! Does anyone remember the Halloween commercial where the milkman's car fell off the road and he came back to life to get a free refill?

I think the closest version to a more modern Mario 64 “Change The System” ad would be Splatoon 1’s “You’re a squid now, you’re a kid now” ad.

4:30 I used to play this Mode for hours on end against my brothers, it is ungodly ammounts of fun!

Peeb’s statement on doing this when he’s old made me think... This is a new industry, really only gaining traction in the past 10-11 years. What’s gonna happen when all these big creators get older and older? Are they going to do this when they’re in their 70s? What will a youtube retirement look like? We aren’t really there yet so we really don’t know.

Considering that KZreadrs kind of fit the niche for the younger audiences that comedians filled for the older generations, they might age the same way they did. Granted, that doesn't mean that they will have any guarantee of being sustainable on their old videos due to KZread's pay scaling for even moderately old videos.

We do have older KZreadrs who have TV shows and stuff. But that never ends well.

Yeah, I've always thought about that. The show will eventually have to end, and what'll happen before or during that?

I don't know about anyone else but I am going to to go buy a Mercedes Benz now because I know that Mario drives one and Mario would never lead me astray. That is what the life sized statue of Mario I have in my living room told me.

Remember back in the day when you went to Toys R Us and they had their games section. You took a ticket from under the game you wanted (if there were none, it was sold out) and you took the ticket over to a counter to give it to a person who would go into the back room to get the game for you.

Yes, I used to work in the games section of Toys R Us, and I would handle the tickets and give out the games to people from the booth they had. It was a fun job.
