Doesn't tang just mean flavor. Like if you were to say that something you're eating has this tang or unique unknown flavor to it. So they're saying this is our "tang", this is our unique flavor that only we can make, or our "je ne sais quoi". Not necessarily "this is our soup"

Their music is commonly referred to as 'Noise music' because of the many random sounds they add but Stray Kids have literally created their own genre of music called Mala Taste. That's what makes them unique and that what we as fans now love to hear from them, and it's synonymous with them.

I love how you picked up on their vibe so quick. Stray Kids are just different in all the best ways. Many have said that they're "loud" or just make "noisy" music. So when you kept smiling and saying "they just don't care" in Thunderous, I loved it cause that was totally the point they wanted to make😊they called out the haters by literally saying the Thunderous ones have arrived, you're going to hear their noise loud and clear🔥

It's "weird" because Stray Kids just don't quite fit into the typical Western pop music box. This group is just a cut above so much of the same. They have a level of talent that is incomparable: they write, produce, and perform. Each one can sing, rap, and dance. Stray Kids have accomplished so much for a group where the avg age of the group is around 24. They are masters of wordplay and double meaning. I can see where Felix reminds you of Keith Sweat. We need to give him a recommendation to listen to a track or two! Their discography is deep (150+ songs) and they cross multiple genres. There is something for everyone. The fandom is known as Stay. The phrase at the end of the videos is standard.

@@nicola_bangtan57 when skz first came out with “noise” music type of genre ppl hated it, saying it isn’t “kpop” and people till this day say the same thing that their music is “noise” skz popularized that genre making it the typical sound for 4th gen. But skz has more songs that isn’t “noise” music. Their early debut they started off with a typical kpop sound to their title tracks and than made their own type of sound to it that’s why they’re more popular internationally than domestic cause Koreans don’t really like that type of “sound” or it isn’t typical “kpop” sound.

If you like weird then Stray Kids is the perfect group for you! Since the very beginning they have always been experimental with their music. They don't care about being weird or different they only care about the artistry. They use some of the most random and crazy samples in their music. Like they've got a song called Freeze and they deadass sampled the cop from The Incredibles movie yelling "freeze" to Frozone 💀 They've been getting hate for their uniqueness from the very start but they don't give a shit and if anything it fuels them to go crazier with it like "well they're already hating lets give them something to really be mad at" and every time its a masterpiece. Their real life personalities are weird and fun too! They seem super serious, cool, and intimidating in their music videos but in reality they're a bunch of cute and loud dorks.They actually have a song that introduces all of their names and personalities called Fam (korean ver)! You should really check it out its a great intro to them and it was created by themselves so its very accurate. They're dropping a new album on Friday that is going to be the biggest and craziest they have ever dropped so you're getting into them at the perfect time! Welcome to the Stay family! 24:50 that outfit is in the style of traditional korean clothes! Ever since God's menu they've been incorporating korean traditional clothing into their looks. Thunderous also features a ton of traditional korean elements including traditional korean instruments! The album that theyre putting out on Friday is also filled with a ton of korean folklore and traditional clothing/elements. Stray Kids is actually wayyyy more popular internationally than they are in korea so its cool that they use that foreign popularity to spread Korean culture

we embrace the "weird" when it comes to SKZ coz they add order to the chaos! They have unique voices, they use organic samples alot or use sound to add into the image of the song (the dududu for chopping, the honks, the thunder, the drill), even their choreo rely on imagery. And since the members are the blueprints of their music, we can trust them to be sincere and authentic about it.

For me, stray kids songs were never weird; even from the start. They are great and my favorites. I love the reaction. I hope to see more stray kids content. Stray Kids songs are known as noisy but there are some really soft and amazing music by them. Stray Kids is one of the few self-producing groups in Kpop. They Wrote the song, Composed, Produced and even involved in their choreography. All the members are highly talented and have great passion in music. Each member have great personalities and we STAYS love them so much. Every comebacks are filled with new concept, new ideas and always manage to surprise the fans. I'm so excited for their new comeback in 2nd of June with the new album '5 STARS'. I hope you could check that out too.

Stray Kids has their own genre almost, a lot of their songs are not "traditional" kpop I guess is the best way to explain it. They've gotten a lot of hate for it in the past so they talk alot of $hit lol. Changbin is one of the fastest rappers in Kpop, actually Han is too. U basically have 8 singers, dancers, rappers. They come with DRIP too. They have music in a lot of different genres. Keep diving in and welcome aboard. Also, they write and produce their own music.........4th gen Kings.....

As an older dude, I think you are the only person I've seen compare Felix to Keith Sweat. I doubt some of the younger people that are in your generation know who he is...and it hit home for me. If ya want more 'Keith Sweat', I'd recommend Venom, Victory Song, Double Knot, and Easy (if you stick to the 4 song videos).

Stray Kids is amazing, I’m a relatively new fan myself, but I’m utterly in love. I would definitely listen to more of them! Some really good songs I’d recommend listening to are: - Back Door - Venom - Red Lights - Domino - Side Effects - Miroh - Wolfgang - and Cheese There are many more, but those ones I’d say are really good! Also in maniac, the one you pointed out for the background vocals at that one part at 19:28 that’s Bang Chan! He’s the group leader, and my personal bias!

Are you into rap heavy songs or smooth calm songs? cause they do both lol. god's menu is a song about them making music which they really do because they are self produced and write all their lyrics. Thunderous is a song they wrote cause they were called noisy so they went off like oh we're noisy yeah lets show them how noisy we can be. Maniac is just about releasing your inner self and to stop pretending you're normal cause no really is, like the story of frankenstein him being a monster because everyone noted him as one instead of being his true self. You're spot on, they definitely have their own unique and playful style that doesn't try to adhere to anyone's version of normal. A really good example of this is in their MV Christmas Evel, which I highly recommend, as well as they mashup of God's Menu with Blackpink's song Dddu-Ddu Dddu-Ddu - Blackpink is another group you might like if you like SKZ and BTS. Also recommend their songs Venom, The Sound, Winter Falls and Red Lights - they have so many good ones

The upside down world is actually a theme across their whole discography a lot of kpop groups have like a running storyline or lore that goes with their music. For skz its clones which are shown throughout. It makes it fun especially around comeback time because they give hints on bunch of dif socials, old videos and content even old mv as they plan these albums well well in advance. For skz they also have for every album they create a trailer for the album like a short film that is more about lore but introduces the album. My fav was for Oddinary and No Easy (noisy). Everybody also deciphers it on reddit, twitter etc pooling their theories and some think the new album coming out in a few days is the final for this storyline. Highly recommend also for each album most songs skz do Unveil tracks these are like short mvs somewhere between 30 sec to 1.5 min to show a bit of the song/sound bit longer than a teaser as sometimes this is the only thing released for the song not a full length mv tho skz do release a tonne of mv for their albums. I think this new one they are doing an unveil for like all of them. In addition they release a mashup song on yt which one of their friends and producers they work with a lot creates a song from all the songs on the album mashuped up into one song. Id honestly download that byitself doesn't spoil the album and sounds sick.

They incorporate a lot of physical sounds. The three members who primarily produce the music always have such a good time creating the beats and music and they always do what they like. Id recommend doing some album listens because the songs are always quite different but they have that stray kids sound. Their b-sides are some of my favs and the amount of different genres they have tried to is wild some pop rock/punk, drill, rnb, edm, trap the list goes on. They also do a lot of slow, ballads as well. Plus constantly releasing content for everybody in the last like year they have released like 5 albums alone. :)

A fun fact is that they produce their own music and their songs always have a meaning behind them from my experience
