I was at this closing ceremony. Front and center. Loved his performance.

I saw this tour when it came to Stockholm, Sweden. I travelled by train for 5-6 hours from the south of Sweden because there was no way I was missing Weird Al. He was playing at a funfair called Gröna Lund and we got in as soon as the doors opened because there were no pre-bookable tickets. After having ridden roller coasters all day we saw this amazing head of hair waiting in line to go on just as we sat down and got strapped in for the next ride. We couldn't believe it: there he was, Weird Al in the flesh. As soon as our ride was done we had to wait for his turn to be over. I was the most socially outward person in my group so I was the one who approached him and politely said "Mr. Yankovic? Hi. We just wanted to say that we're really excited to see you and we've travelled 600km" when I was interrupted by some dude with a GoPro and recording camera that just over voiced me and screamed "Weird Al! Welcome to Sweden, how was it riding this strange contraption?" and Weird Al stopped him immediately and said "Excuse me", turned to me and continued our conversation, basically flat out denying that other dude and said "Wow 600km sounds like a long trip. I'm humbled. Thank you for coming and enjoy the show." and then he took a pic with us. Out of all celebrities I've met, he was the most honest and down to earth and as evidenced in this video (we got the same setlist) it was an amazing show. Honestly probably the best I've ever seen and I've seen some of the biggest names in rock, haha. I also love the fact that he said that 600km sounded like a long trip because just like how I have no clue how long a mile is I guess he has no clue how long a kilometer is lol.

That's so cool, Al is such a sweetheart. We do learn metric in school and Al graduated high school as valedictorian at 16, and he has a degree in architecture, so I'm sure he knows how to convert from kilometers to miles, but it's hard to have a feel for metric units when you don't use them in daily life.

I think the most socially outward of the group with some of us nerdy Al fans is probably about the same as with engineers. You look at the other person's shoes when you talk to them instead of your own shoes. 😀 I think I would have been too nervous to talk to him.

An Artist who can actually perform and sing his songs and doesn't forget the lyrics. I am impressed but I expected nothing less of him. Weird Al is a genius.

Right video, wrong Blizzcon.... it was probably meant for Blizzcon 2018. RIP Diablo.

I remember his day's on the Dr. Demento show back in the 70's. What an amazingly funny guy. Great talent. I think Sandy Wexler was his agent back then. :)

Yeah, just noticed that. Great to know he likes Mighty Boosh, and I can only guess that the Boosh respect and love Weird Al as well. Two of the greatest acts in musical comedy ever.

Weird Al is a national treasure.

This is one of the best Blizzcon closing ceremonies.

yeah, makes me so glad i bought a virtual ticket to that one...i cant afford the prices and travel time to go in person so $40 for a virtual ticket that still has some great perks? im game! plus ive been a Weird Al fan since i was little, that was like 25 years ago, so this was probably one of the most awesome Blizzcons for me

How to fix your crappy top 40 songs? Just add AL ! They should just wise up, give him the tune they're working on (if they indeed do), let him supply lyrics, and split the royalties. Makes better music and happier people. It's a win/win situation all the way around.

Someone wake up the crowd, I swear every Blizzcon half the people there are just dull afwith re amazing names they've had come through there.

Funny, every Al concert I've been to, everyone yelled out the intro to Fat. The crowd didn't do that here. You can hear people talking, but not quoting it.

Loves me some Al! Great professional looking video, but the sound board is way off. They've got the band and sound affects turned way down. Ones shot with cell phones have sounded better, but it LOOKS GREAT!

The Yoda Chant. Every tour he adds a new section to it. I'm pretty sure it used to only be like 30-40 seconds long

not within the span of time they used...i mean most of the songs he sung in full, not so many of them were done medley-style and Blizzard only has so much time to devote to the closing concert each year so things are arranged accordingly

This is very late, but he no longer plays that one live because he can't hit some of those notes anymore.

I doubt that's the reason. He doesn't hit many of the high notes in the songs in this video. In at least one case, he was singing a lower melody (the beginning of Party in the CIA), and in other parts (e.g. Foil) his pre-recorded voice was singing the high notes and he was singing a lower harmony live.

Sometimes singers' vocal chords don't always cooperate. When they can't hit higher notes they back off a bit
