Thank you, G's W, for another historical/pictorial education from Tom Weir. I corresponded with Tom for too short a while, circa 1977, when he resided at Gartocharn. He was one of Nature's Few Perfect Gentlemen. Coincidently, Tom and his sister Molly grew up at 300 Springburn Road, Springburn, Glasgow N1. I also stayed with my Maternal Grand-Mother in the next close, off and on (due to 'parental dysfunction derived from my b*astard, paedophilic step-father'), 1958-1967, at 290 Springburn Road - next door to Dear Molly and Tom. Unfortunately, we never met during that time (I was aged 7-16 years old). Now I will catch up with much more of your appreciated 'Weir's Way' treasure trove. All the best, G. Stay free.
