Imagine going up against ships like the Alaska or Des Moines in a ship with 32K HP. I only bought the Weimar because I enjoy T6 and feel like T7 is saturated with options so I'll definitely be refunding.

You mean like running a 27k health Omaha against ships like Pensacola or any of the dpm cruisers at tier 5? Lets face it, you bought Weimar because you, like everyone else, knew it was op at it's tier and now you're afraid of being bullied yourself. That's what most of this is really about.

I’ve never sold a premium ship before, I even kept my mikasa, buy decided to sell the Weimar. I would have preferred if WG had nerfed the reload, as Derka stated it has a longer reload on the pc version, or WG had listened to the CC’s who almost unanimously said it was op and nerfed it before putting it on sale.

While its true, CCs get access to normal premiums at the same time as everyone else, WG had to know what this thing was, even before we all started crying foul

Traded mine in. Got Hyuga with the 35% coupon. Love it, plus now I have enough for a few campaigns or some PtW content.

Hey Derka, great video as always. my thoughts on the Weimar is that Wargaming clearly didn't do a thorough job of testing this ship properly before they released it and now they've effectively made it irrelevant to keep by putting it in Tier 7, with the Mainz which is clearly better so I'm guessing those who own the Mainz will likely take the doubloons. what I dont get is why move the Weimar to a rather crowded Tier 7 already?? Germany already has the Hipper, Prinz Eugen, Mainz and Siegfried. Weimar makes it 5 Tier 7 cruisers for Germany, meanwhile in comparison, France & Italy have just one Tier 7 cruiser each... Seems to me this is either an overreaction or they didn't want to put the work in to fix it properly at its original tier. This reminds me of how they overreacted with Kleber by nerfing the torpedo range. It went from a VERY talked about destroyer to a ship that's seldom mentioned anymore. But I digress. When a company, any company puts out a product that is not performing as intended, it's on them, it's their product hence they own the failure. However failure can be an opportunity. What is most revealing about a company, in these specific cases is HOW they go about resolving the issue(s). One must think that a lot of hours were committed into all of the different development dynamics that went into creating the Weimar, and when that work results in this...it exposes an unsatisfactory work culture within Wargaming. The pursuit of profit is outweighing the pursuit of creating/maintaining a structure or model that is truly best for this game and its customers. It's an all too familiar attitude that's often-seen by consumers. But that's just me. I liked Weimar at Tier 6, all she needed was a reasonable nerf. I own both the Weimar & Mainz and I plan on getting those doubloons for Weimar. It makes the most logical sense, but it's a very sad ending that was completely avoidable had Wargaming done their job correctly the first time, which is inexcusable.

But, I mean who are we kidding, you're right, and this boat was a cash grab. There is no other excuse that I can think of. Look how cautious they are with the implementation of Colbert...and compare that to Weimar. Wow lol. Night and day.

I loved playing Weimar at T6, and I would have accepted some kind of nerf to its fire rate for the sake of balance. But it’s pointless at T7 if you have Mainz. I’ve never sold a ship, but this is looking more and more like it would be the first one. My basic calculus here is this: If Weimar were in the store, and I didn’t have it, would I buy it? The answer is obviously “no.”

I sold her. Didn't have a tier 6 premium BB. Took the 12500 dubs used the 35% off coupon bought the Nelson for 8150 dubs and stacked the rest. Win/win

Thanks for being honest. I tried to explain to a couple people in peeks stream why I was gonna get a refund and they acted like I was dumb. It’s a game. It’s a ship. I will play Mainz and be happy with my dubs.

I always believed that the Weimer would be terrible at t7 and that the people asking for it didn't understand that it wasn't going to be doing well. At t6 it's very strong but it's the only tier it will work in without a bunch of buffs

Munchen is so underrated! Lutjens agile build is fun. 40 knots top speed and a 2 second rudder, shes a blast. Enjoy!

1 year later update… I miss my Weimar. Still stand by the principles and reasons why I sold it, but it was a fun ship to break out and watch the world burn.

Never really played my Weimar all that often. It's a good ship no doubt, but doesn't really match my playstyle. I always used her as I believe any Cruiser should...hunting destroyers. Haven't tried it at T7 yet but with my tendency towards aggressive play she might be in a heightened position of danger. These things being said I will be keeping my Weimar...I don't sell ships. Great video...enjoyed watching!

I feel ships like weimar are poor DD hunters, mainly because it will always be focused hard by the reds.....and now at tier 7 the incoming BB shells will be alot more accurate to.

Yeah it's definitely a lot harder to take the p1ss in the wiemar now. When it gets hit it hurts bad but iv had 10x the value back from it and now it just needs to be played very careful which don't fit my playstyle but I'd never sell it.

Ah, The Weimar...as an average player, this ship became a bit of an equalizer for me. I still got deleted, still lost games, but I felt I could compete, sink some ships, burn them down. Now, I think I will be getting a refund. Feel abused by WG. Find it hard to believe this was the plan all along, but how could they put the ship in at it's previous state? Like you said, "super testers", where were they? Also, why straight to VII? Why not a nerf? Oh well, I'll enjoy having the 12500 doubloons, but still not happy though. I don't like to sell ships.

Mmm. I thought, my decision making is over, but I will reconsider. I intended to keep her as an agile alternative to Mainz, since Mainz is lacking agility. But yeah, Weimar doesn’t react well to getting shot at. Plus: you can feel that people still hate her. Weimar’s still draw a lot of attention, in my opinion. And there may be alternatives in the shop to spend the dubs anyway. ☺️

Personally I had mine converted into loons, I have mainz, and Weimar yea higher dpm n such but not my Forte

I’m not sure if I commented on one of your videos but Mainz is my go to light cruiser. I wouldn’t blame anyone for refunding that ship if they paid money for it. I just don’t personally buy premium ships and commanders. The cost is just too damn much for me

First of all great video as always...personally Weinmar or Mainz are not my favorite German cruisers as they don't my style for brawling and CQB type of play like Hipper...if I want to HE spam or DPS i would consider another route. I will personally be keeping Weinmar but can't see playing her much. I look forward to your review of the Roon..this was the one ship I was looking for and so far it seems meh...keep up the great work.

I have honestly struggled with Roon a little. Stock gun range and without B hull has been tough. I have wanted to play her fully upgraded tho before sharing my opinion, and as you can imagine that's taking a bit with 12 new tech ships. One secret I would share though is a stern in, prop mod set up, using acceleration to dodge enemy shells. Augustin Reigerwald has also made the AP a pretty scary thing for enemy cruisers.

Got rid of it at the weekend. I have the Mainz so there was literally no point in keeping it.

I doubt they tested weimar before releasing. Or they did not listen the feedback. I dont understand this but sometimes legends do weird changes to pc. For instance they released colbert with much better armor.

For me, i missed out on the mainz when it was available. So i picked up the Weimar. A part of me wants to get rid of it, but i don't have anything else to really replace it with. I have a premium Baltimore, but its not the same thing. I'd rather a nerf for t6 than a dumpster fire t7. Personally, i feel like i got the short end of the stick with no 4th mod slot

Without Mainz in the picture, Weimar is very strong. Its just with Mainz, she is so blah

The lack of mod 4 really grinds my gears! She became a textbook glass cannon, but won't even allow her to be a cannon. She now is almost the worst in everything and breaks like glass that doesn't cut...

This is my opinion as well. She needed slot 4 to give her something over Mainz

Bought it for tier 6 and not 7 ... Specially now with tier 8 i think i will hardly be using it anymore so i will return it. They should have kept it at tier 6 and nerf firerate, that would have been acceptable to me as it would still have been able to hold its own against othet ships. A real shame anyway what they did and i do not agree that they moved it up a tier at all and even kept out the 4th upgrade slot. One hit from the republique and youre either dead or pretty much unable to help your team

Weimar can hold it's own, went up against a Balti and Amagi in that intro map on C point, Pushed, lit the balti on fire til their health was 30% and Amagi pushed but with torps I actually ended up taking it out. Weimar is a learning curve but the end result is worth it.

i guarantee that if you sell it then it will be in the next bureau project haha

We all know some by definition broken ships at this tier such as Jaen Bart, Wichita, Kutuzov, which has never been moved up nor nerfed. I am on the i will keep my weimar team. Why? 2 reasons. 1 i have a t7 for the price of 10k doubloons since i bought it with a coupon. I can use it for the bureau. Add to this in a div with smoke cruisers or a dd that smokes you up you can stil wreck ships. Another point i want to make out t7 makes the best credits atm. She is in a bad spot atm but when she gets cut off from legendary it will be in a better place. What are you going to do derka? Keep up the good vids!

If you look at it from a between Tier point of view she is better between 6 and 7 rather then 6 & 5 where she was very much to OP for tier 5's, at least now the mix will be 6 & 7 so I believe she still has a place.

It was a damn dirty thing to do by wargaming. They ain't offering a refund, they are giving you store credit to spend again with them. That isn't a damn refund. I want my money back into my bank, not staying in wargaming's bank !

I still have mixed feelings about the Weimar situation. When I initially bought her it was for the money grind, now this isn't an issues since the credit farm is now on T7 but I still feel somewhat robbed in a way. Weimar should get the 4th mod slot and maybe a buff but idk a lot of ppl will bitch about that then. The 4th mod would help more and would be fair

I'm always amused by the reaction of people who have or buy overpowered ships sense of entitlement in the rare case that ship get nerfed or, in this case, not even nerfed, just having a chance of being put up against stronger competition - how long have you enjoyed bullying players with an OP ship and what does it say about you that, now there is a possiblity you might get bullied by higher tier ships once in a while some of you are crying, stamping your feet, and threatening to sell the ship? In addition to this ship, two others come to mind that are so powerful at their tier they could stand going up against stronger competition - Kamikaze and California.

They should have increased the reload speed, releasing her with a 5 secound reload was a very bad choice. But by u saying she is op and its fair at were she is, please explain to everyone with a brain cell of how jumping her up at tier 7 with a crappy hull at tier 7. Like dude she has a york hull not a hipper hull. She can hold her own still but that is entirety based on the map your playing.
