My dad has one. He's had it perhaps 15 years. Had the seals changed a couple of times, but usually that's because it's been unused and under pressure for so long. There are loads of fancy airguns now, but the HW100 is such a work horse and so accurate I wouldn't choose much else.

Weihrauch got it perfect, after a new AA S510SX that came absolutely loaded with issues, I rejected another and instead took a 37ftlb hw100 s Wow this is more like it,I've shot literally thousands of pellets and slugs (favourite slugs are apolo 21g) it's so good i no longer have any rimfires!

Can't go wrong with these. Probably the best all-round rifle on the market. Crazy, but they're now one of the cheaper ones! It will still outshoot most modern Eastern European and Swedish competition, but will still be working, with full parts availability in 15 years...

Morning Andy, must be a difficult thing to do presenting and reviewing a rifle that's been a classic for as long as this one has but once again you did it justice. Personally one of the few plastic rifles I'd ever consider but that's because I'm old , miss the smell of 5 star petrol , hate rap and still look forward to Sunday dinner ! Nice review , got to go the bacon's done . Dave

Love my Walnut KT. 310mm barrel, 105cc cylinder, the mechanism is really nicely compact. 6 mags 84 shots on a fill, my favourite pellets for pest control are QYS Magnum Heavy 13.4gr which it sends at a steady 11.6ft/lb, anti-tamper still in place, original hammer spring and Reg at 90 bar 👍 I swapped out the Steel air tube for a Titanium one so it's 2.9kg in its socks now 👍

Morning everyone. No doubt the HW100 is a fantastic rifle. I do find many of the owners of them though are a bit like folk that obsess over VW’s. Lots will try to convince you that whatever rifle you have it’s the wrong one, on not as good in one way or another. Some will tell you that you should sell every other gun you own because the HW100 is the only one you will ever need. Again no doubt they are a capable rifle. But there are other rifles available that are equally as capable. Thanks Andy for the superb review.

I just love the HW100KT and I think I’m on my 5th now and I had this very same gun but in 22 which was my last one until I put it in part ex for another but this time in 177 and I which I’d changed calibre years ago as my hit and kill ratio has increased tenfold and the walnut stock is just truly amazing with the most wonderful grain I’ve ever seen on any airgun, the type of grain you would expect to find on a high end shotgun, and the 177 has definitely changed my shooting for the best. I’ve also had the 110 too and was an awesome rifle but the rubber coating wore off and it looked scabby so I continued with the HW100 KT’s. And I didn’t bother to watch Andy shooting as I was writing this but I knew what the results would be, awesome rifles they really are.

Great review! I have a HW100 (albeit with the laminate stock). Incredibly accurate and dependable. As I use it exclusively at the range, if it was my only rifle I would find it 'boringly reliable'. Fortunately I have a HW90 (gas ram, break barrel) which needs a little more skill but is also incredibly accurate to make the day more varied.

My walnut, non-thumbhole carbine was gifted to me and it's one of the finest shooting related gifts I've ever received. Do I covet a digital range queen, yeah for sure, but am I convinced they can out shoot my old HW100...no I'm not. At twelve years old mine developed a slow leak. 20 quid on parts a quick look at KZread and it was back running in 30 minutes. The accuracy, simplicity and workmanship make them heirloom rifles not their cost or their intricacy.

Two little points Andy about your review of the HW100. Are you aware you can de-cock these rifles without having to fire them. This is if you have no pellet loaded of course. With the cocking lever pulled fully back, pull the trigger, keep it pulled back and then close the cocking lever. The rifle is now de-cocked and safe. Also although there is no shot counter on the magazines there is a silver line. If you load the magazine with that silver line showing, as the magazine rotates you can see when you are getting to last pellet in the magazine. I currently have two HW100KT’s in .177 & .22 and have previously owned a walnut stocked HW100KT .177 for over 10 years . I’ve never had a problem or fault with any of them. 👍

  • @user-fz8fy4zl1c

Loded gun can also be decocked, just make sure you have 2 empty places in magazine and release mag button, rotate mag counter clockwise, re engage mag button,de cock in Same manner, but make sure after decocking you have an empty space in your mag before re cocking gun!

I have read many of the comments which i both agree and disagree with. I own amongst many other guns, the HW110. Just like this, it is incredibly accurate placing pellet on pellet every time. Is it my go to rifle? Well no, at least not currently. It is the nature of our hobby that we continually want to try new guns so my current daily choice is the FX Impact compact. It is no better for accuarcy but its what my fickle mind chooses this week. Will i ever sell my HW110? Never.

I shoot mostly benchrest and for a mammoth practice session, it's just not right for the job. A 25 target card, no problem at all but I like to fill up and shoot for a couple of hours. I would really like one though.

Wow. Andy surely was selling an HW100 to me in this video!😁 ..up until the price was brought up, of course..🤣 This surely was aimed right for me. "Ballistic polymer stock" for all weather was mentioned, and even in colors right for me. "Tool" was said. Dual scope mount rail system. Sidelever. Safety works only when cocked. ..and the magazine is pure simplicity itself.❤ The whole package looked way good. Too bad the price is a bit too high for my wallet. I do understand why the price ain't low. Quality does not come cheap, as we know. Otherwise a perfect hunting style PCP rifle aimed just for my liking...

If I may give you a little advice: don’t focus too much on the price tag and don’t repeat my own mistakes: finding the HW100 too expensive for my budget, I purchased a much cheaper brand… But “cheaper” in all meanings of the term ! Was unhappy and traded in against another one (losing money in the action, of course !). Went on with this game a couple of times, just to finish having spent almost as much as the HW100 would have cost ! Then, thinked over the whole story and started saving on purpose… One less coffee here, another beer there, and one might be surprised how quick some coins can fill up the slotty pig ! Now I’m the happy owner of a magnificent Weihrauch and thoroughly enjoy every single pellet I send downrange through the LW barrel of this flawless marvel 😊 (Just a second advice: don’t make compromise by going for the cheaper HW110 : accuracy is there, of course, but it’s just not the same quality, the magazine is more complicated and the whole handling feels just what it is : “cheaper” !)

Nice rifle and review but just to check ... this isn't a new product? AFAIK the 100 has been available with this green/black synthetic stock for years? As an aside, is a hollow polymer stock potentially more tricky to fit extras to e.g. the sling studs already mentioned, or extra rail for a small flashlight? I have both of these on my 110 (used for night time pest control) ... simple to fit as there's a standard wooden stock under the black coating.

This is a great rifle no doubt but my reximex pretensis is faultless and wonderful to use.

Bought one .177 following your review three weeks ago and yes its deadly accurate great everything but its leaking from the barrel seal, not what i was expecting from a £1000+ air rifle.

They do this in black which I prefer. I think they should do an all black one though without the grey grips on like a hw97kt. I know this rifle isn't really about aethestics but the look of these would put me off a little bit.

Hey Andy, I am looking for a full blowback co2 bb pistol. I already have a 1911 and I’m looking for a striker fire design. What are some good options for FULL BLOWBACK pistols?

Everyone seems to say how great weihrauch guns are, but ive had nothing but trouble from their pcp's. Had a hw110 which was great for about 18 months then leaks and power dropping continuously after that. Sent back to hull cartridge twice ! Swapped it for a hw100 as everyone says how brilliant that is, same thing. Great for 2 years then leaks and power dropping. In the 2 years following first problem its been back in 3 times to be fixed. Im not that impressed to be honest.

Have to say two things put me off. Firstly the shot count in .177, secondly I'm very wary of the grey rubber. Can't help thinking it will end up coated with an impossible to remove sticky residue.

Wouldn't a moderator with .177 exit make silencing even more effective, I have a .177 with a moderator .22 exit and I don't think its as quiet as it should be.

You say that but they leak and the air tube could take out a tank if you dropped it!

Tip Andy, bit of duct tape on either side of target stops wind shake on the target, unless of course the bullet catchers loose and moving with the wind. 😂

Hiya Andy,I need some advice....from you or anybody who reads this...sorry,my names lee.....been out of hunting with a air rifle for a while now. Did have AA s510...lovely rifle....but looking for something a bit more compact, maybe tactical...or as you reviewed hw100 in all weather stock....in your opinion,or anyone else.....if it was a choice on BRK ranger,pathfinder....AGT or Hw100,110.....not bothered about shot count,if you cant use fieldcraft to stalk a quarry, and making a CLEAN kill, then theirs something wrong.....I'm just undecided in which of these to choose for hunting.....please help....anyone😊

That’s a lot of money for plastic furniture. Nice looking gun though. I’m presuming it’s an ambi stock for us south paws?

For the small difference in price I went with Walnut. Nicer to hold and significantly lighter too. As standard my HW100KT Walnut was 3.1kg, but I switched the steel Air Tube for Titanium which scrubs another 192g off the front, bringing the gun down to about 2.9kg. I shoot Ambi as I shoot from both sides of cover and if shooting rested or from a Bipod Lefty is even easier as you can cock much more rapidly with the Stock hand while staying on target. Probably the easiest PCP to operate in the dark too. I have six magazines = 84 shots for it so so I don't have to watch the gauge. When it's out I can reload and recharge at the same time. 👍
