The problem with clickbait is that people don't like to be deceived. If I go into a video that claims to do something in X amount of time, and then 5 seconds in it has a disclaimer that it took more time than X, immediately I lose interest in it and, honestly, trust in that person. I probably won't even see the video, and that person will be "marked" as someone untrustworthy, and I won't check any more of their content.

Thank you for sharing that insight! As a creator I understand how frustrating it can be to almost feel like you have to use clickbait in order to have a chance. But at the same time the goal should never just be views. More views don't automatically mean you're helping more people. Especially if you end up alienating people like you mentioned.

Am I the only one who thinks that all videos she makes are the same video? I stopped watching after a while because I was watching the same thing over and over again: "I had a problem but now I have changed my mindset and I am feeling better". It's always the same format with the same message.

To me her content feels like video diaries, emotional and raw but also heavily edited to be emotional and raw. Maybe that’s why I just don’t view it as “guideline to follow/emulate for health”, it’s just journal entries of someone who is still struggling, which maybe serves the purpose of “you’re not alone in this” but never as health advice!

There’s this viral video of Andre De Shields giving a speech where he says “slowly is the fastest way to get to where you want to be.” I think about it all the time and it’s so true. Recently I’ve gotten into the routine of consistently working out and I know going slowly has made it so much more manageable and achievable.

I used to watch Linda but I quickly realised her videos always surrounded food and fitness in a way of constantly changing her diet and exercise. I found it problematic so I stopped watching her videos, which sucks because the way she edits her videos is very comforting. The way she presents it and her actual message is conflicting 😅

Sleep really is the key that gets missed so much. I recently started listening to sleep stories to fall asleep. And it helps so so much. I don't even usually get to the story. I just need someone to tell me that there's no more to do list and that resting is where I need to be.

Same thing about the sleep! I got a job where I never have to be in earlier than 10 and I get 8-9 hours every night and I feel so good now. I used to be dead tired every single day and just being well rested every day makes me feel like a totally new person

I used to wach you religiously before. Then I started having problems with your content, thinking you're "never" satisfied with what others say. THEN I realized, I was just going through a lot mentally and wasn't ready to acknowledge the truth you're telling us. Thank god I since am in a better mental state and I started rewatching you and learning from you. Ok all this to say, if the viewers are capable to grasp the truth then your content is gold. If the viewers don't have the right mindset, they'll find anything to attack you on it. Keep up the good work, I appreciate your honesty ❤️

I like Linda I definitely think she serves a purpose here on KZread. I stopped watching because it’s repetitive and I started getting the feeling that she wasn’t trying to convince us to love ourselves but rather herself. I hope she can truly come to love herself and not be so hyper focused on her diet and weight. I’ve just graduated to the Natasha oceans and Sydney Cummings of the world and more into the science of food and overall health.I do wish she would make some cooking videos then I’d be back on board 🤣

Woah.. what you said about training to like normal food again hit hard.. last year I went from 180 to 115 (most of the weight loss happened when I moved to Boston and sold my car/walked everywhere) I was super depressed and anxious that I could get myself to only eat one real meal a day and some peanut butter crackers. That one meal would be something super processed that I could just throw in the toaster oven. I’ve since gained weight just by eating “normally” again but find myself almost binging processed foods just to eat them.. I need to think about it in the way you addressed it about making my body like normal food again..

I’m gonna be grouchy for a second lol I don’t relate to any fitness influencers like this but then again I’m the exception meaning I was thin bc of an ED, moved away from an abusive environment and then gained A LOT of weight bc of overeating. Life isn’t always happy, I don’t believe you can make every situation a little better. Sometimes life just freaking sucks but that’s okay. I few like a lot of the popular influencers don’t talk about that enough. My grandma just passed away. My first death I’ve had to deal w and it hit me extremely hard bc growing up my grandma was the one person who showed me genuine love. Now I’m not saying what I’m doing is right but I’ve been drinking everyday (but not getting blackout drunk or anything) and overeating way too much but nothing prepared me for a death and I don’t there is anything that could. I feel like a part of me is missing. With all that being said, I’m a pretty optimistic person but it’s frustrating seeing content creators saying “well hey you can make any situation better w just a simple mindset change” and it’s like no you can’t. I’m a firm believe in “you can’t control what happens to you, you can only control how you react” and I just wish ppl talked more about like hey life fucking sucks sometimes, it’s fucking hard but just take it day by day. Sorry if that sounded really negative but I said my two cents

I'll have to look into that a bit more. Consistent waking and sleeping times is pretty common advice when it comes to sleep to optimize with your circadian rhythm. But if it's impossible to make your bed time consistent I'm not sure if a consistent waking time would be beneficial on it's own. Might be something you need to experiment with a bit.

I feel like everyone always say « be patient » but never say how long we should wait before results? Like I’ve learned calorie deficit should be up to 12 weeks before taking a break from it. So if you can explain what’s an healthy length of a calorie deficit, and how much should be expected as weight loss like realistically? I know it’s personal to everyone but I feel like there’s never real exemple of what average results mentally and physically we can expect ?

This is my first time watching any of your videos and if people would go back and check all your videos you tend to criticize and find fault in everyone but yourself. And the funny thing is you do it to people who have millions of views and some success stories. You so slick that you say I do agree with them in this however. So what are you doing about helping people who have emotional problems, health problems and or obstacles in losing weight? I am sure you probably have said something that isn't correct but the difference is that other you tubers don't need to increase their views by finding fault in others. To those who are losing weight my advice to you is use what helps you as long as it's not dangerous to your health. You can do it. For some it might be faster than for others. Do your own research and find what is good for you! This youtuber is not perfect and I am more than sure that she too said something that wasn't correct. She isn't perfect. The only one that is perfect is God. If she cared so much about others. She would do a perfect video that would work for everyone and it would contain health information, healthy diet and encouragement for all those who are trying regardless of what anyone says. Commercials, businesses etc all have mislead people and if you call them out they tell you well it was in the fine print. She sounds too toxic to me because it's not about talking about someone else or naming others faults. Its about helping those who are struggling and have been belittled because when you see a heavy person right away you think wow they must eat alot. What about those who have thyroid problems? Some of them dont eat much and they do exercise however their thyroid is messed up. She is just trying to increase her videos by criticizing others just like the gossip shows on TV do. Don't feed into this do what helps you cause at the end of the day it about you. She gets paid for videos while you are struggling to get rid of a real problem.
