Vitali really was a great fighter but his brother gets all the credit. His knock out record is almost 100%, never put down and lost twice due to: Dislocated shoulder. A terrible cut. I'm a Brit and Lennox Lewis fan but he totally dominated Lennox and if that cut hadn't of stopped that fight Vitali would of and for me Lennox is an all time great but Vitali was better.

Let’s go champ was a phrase that he used to motivate himself and pull himself out of that depression which is why he made a comeback 4 years after this fight.

One of the most lop-sided fights I've ever seen. Props to Briggs for having a chin of steel.

Say what you will about Vitali, love him or hate him, rank him wherever you will all time, but there isn’t one heavyweight in history who would have beaten him easily. If they won, they’d have had to fight their heart out. He would have been tough for anyone, and would beat a lot of the typical heavyweights found in most top 10’s.

Vitali was good, but some people say that he was better than Lennox for that 6 rounds. I dont think so, the fight was very close, and for me Lennox was a bit better, and if that fight continued i still think that Lennox wouldve won. Lennox was 38 at that time and Vitali around 30.

Shannon Briggs is one tough SOB because not many men could take the beating he took and finish on his feet. I hate this is how he finished his career because the guy is really a good person if you get past his persona.

This isn't a racial thing, it's a class thing. Briggs took up boxing because he was poor and homeless but large, strong, and could fight. Klitschko grew up with a military father and a mother present, roof over his head, and the means to obtain an education (PHD). It's a matter of societal class, but the ignorant chalk it up to ethnicity or ethnic culture. What I'm saying is, Briggs is an uneducated, ignorant loud mouth man (all ethnic backgrounds have them) while Klitschko is an educated, well-mannered, sportsman who was raised to be such by a decent family. And yeah, this is a "monkey" writing this so send me back to slavery.
