“Weeping Willow”, The Sad Romanov/Grand Duke George Alexandrovich of Russia

Grand Duke George Alexandrovich of Russia (9 May [O.S. 27 April] 1871 - 10 July [O.S. 28 June] 1899) was the third son of Emperor Alexander III and Empress Maria of Russia and brother of Emperor Nicholas II. George died suddenly in Abastumani on 10 July 1899 at the age of 28. He had been out alone on his motorcycle and some hours later, when he failed to return, his worried staff sent out a search party. By the time they found him, a peasant woman had already discovered him collapsed at the side of the road, blood oozing from his mouth as he struggled to breathe. She supported him in her arms until he died. On 14 July 1899 George was laid to rest in the St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Saint Petersburg, not far from his late father, Alexander III.

Thankyou I must admit I don't know much about Grand Duke George I had heard he died at a young age and that he suffered with Tuberculosis...this was very interesting that poor family had to deal with so much loss and heartache over the year's 💜🇦🇺

You are very welcome. The Romanov family suffered from many tragic events. George was an intelligent, creative and kind young man, but perhaps if he overcomes the disease, he may not survive the Bolsheviks like Tsar Nicholas and his family and his brother Michael... Different reasons, but the same tragic end.

Yes true 🥰 George, Nicholas and Misha share some features, each one of them has a personality and beauty of its own. My heart is filled with love when looking at them. They are pure souls. My tears were flowing while I was working on these videos.😍😍😍

That DNA test was very suspect - the "Tsars" skull showed no sign of the attempted assasination in Japan. The DNA used to make a supposed match is common to many of us.

I have seen the remains belonging to the Romanov family, including the skull of Tsar Nicholas II, which bears a wound mark on the forehead, which is the same place where the Tsar was struck. His blood-stained clothes and the sword that was used in the incident are still present today

@@curiousmonster8221 I know but it's the real remains. An analysis of the DNA taken from the remains of Duke George (brother of Czar Nicholas II) and from the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip (Queen Elizabeth II's husband) has proven to be identical to the remains that were extracted from the forest.

the ban on smoking must have been hard. George was a heavy smoker (as was his brother Tsar Nicholas) Caitlin Doughty has an interesting (definitely non-serious) video about how the remains of the Romanovs were found and authenticated. ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/lYdm2qise5PRnNo.html )
