I used to sit and watch series like Law & Order, SVU, etc with my girls when they were young teenagers because they were very naive and very trusting. I watched them with the girls so I could open a dialogue about the fact that there are crazies out there. These days it’s sadly important to teach kids about the dangers out there. They became wary of strangers offering drinks, even soft drinks, e.g. , at college football games. They had to teach some of these lessons to friends

This is something I am VERY mindful of with my little. She's too young for it now, but I am definitely working through the best ways to educate her without exposing her...

I didn’t notice the fan but once it stopped I could tell the difference. That said - when it was running it was totally fine. I read thrillers, am a court tv live trial junky, and all such things. I feel no shame nor does it cause me to question my moral compass. I read my spiritual stuff & personal development book every morning so I consider the aforementioned my relaxation & me-time.

Love this decor! Beautiful. New labels really refreshed the spread. I do find that you have to make sure the Undo is completely dry before writing or sticking down another sticker

True crime helps me understand justice better-at least when the bad guys/gals are caught. But I understand your dilemma with it-I go back & forth about whether it’s good for me 😂

That's a good explanation (understanding justice), though sometimes we don't see justice in this life :( I'll continue to go back and forth - maybe sometimes it's ok for me, and other times not. And that's ok!

Love your July spread, coffee stains and all! I find that coffee stains add a certain patina - after they’re dry anyway! 😂. After all we buy coffee stained stickers.

My opinion on serial killers, murder, etc.: For me, I'm very naive and grew up very sheltered in a small town with no serious crime. So, when I first started getting into true crime and such, it honestly helped me become more aware of things and people around me and to be more mindful of who I let in my life, who to trust, etc. I used to watch/listen to that content too much though, and since cutting it out a little more, feel like I have a better balance. Anyway, it's very personal and I think you'll strike the right balance! P.S. Watching horror movies actually taught me to appreciate and love God more, as weird as that is. (Plus it did what I mentioned earlier about killers, murder, etc.)

Ok this is fascinating to me - I had never thought about the consumption of true crime as a method for understanding the world around you if you've been relatively sheltered. It definitely makes me think about how I'm going to both protect AND teach my baby girl about this stuff. I hope that I'll know the timing of when to broach the topic when she's old enough.

Actually I lost and have kept off the most weight ever when I slowed down and tried to eat healthier snacks, etc. and to eat when I was hungry not because it was time to…. And trying to be more mindful. We also eat off of. Salad plates instead of dinner plates. It works for me and if I want a little more of one thing I have to get up to give it

The fan is teeny tiny, the AC not so much! But I'll film a video with AC and ya'll will have to let me know if you can hear it!

The tricky thing for the medicine is you absolutely have to take it with a full meal. So I'll remember at bedtime that I forgot to take it at dinner, and then deliberate over whether I eat more food at that moment to take it, or just skip it til morning, It's awful!!

@@thejoyfulsojourn you actually don’t have to take it with a meal. I take mine about 9pm every night and usually go to bed at 10. I also have PCOS and Type 2 diabetes.

Can't hear your fan but I do think you deserve to be comfortable while you work. This Texas heat is unbearable without AC.. We just went through 5 days with no power after the Hurricane here in the Cleveland,/ Houston and surrounding areas. I wish you could find a way to drown out surrounding noises or maybe get a portable airconditioner or something. We still have a few more months of heat. I've never heard your AC in a video so I don’t know how annoying it is. Praying you find a happy medium. Blessings❤
