Brittany Mia you are the best! I have followed a lot of natural curl girls and I have wasted tons of money on gels and products that don’t work. But this combo… girl I’m in love, my curls are moisturized, flake free and my wash go last for days! Over the last month I have given away so many products because innersense and UFD is a forever staple in routine! I have been loving my twist-outs with mousse lately giving my hair time to grow out of my short taper last year. I still have a couple of "holes" in my hair so looking forward to everything filling in and loving the shape of my wash n go more.

You are so welcome! Thank you for your recommendation. Feel free to give more, if you so please. They were similar but not. I don’t know; The products are different, but due to the difference in the application, I couldn’t tell. It applied more like a holding gel than a lotion, but I could feel a difference in softness. ICH had great hold, but I bet it would’ve had better hold had I not added so much water when I was applying it. That’s nice. What kind of mousse are you using? I’ve got some “holes” too, and I feel you on looking forward to everything filling in. Are you still shampooing twice a week? I might go back to that now that I’m in the gym. I also thought about trying water rinsing.

@@BrittanyMia Well I am glad they created more options for people. I have been using The Doux's Crazy Sexy Curl Mousse as well as Giovanni Ultra Volume Foam Styling Mousse both have great hold. I have played around with a leave-in under them but they have better longer-lasting hold without a leave-in. I have increased my activity the last 2 months so I still wash every 4 days because even without exercise my scalp would get itchy and flakey and need to be washed so with the extra sweat it still needs to be washed every 4 days so no difference there.

I use the Buff. I have a few of them, and I definitely prefer it over my bonnet. It prolongs the longevity of my wash and go...as well as the shape! I only use the bonnet a few nights, before I'm ready to shampoo my hair. I haven't tried Innersense products yet. I'm waiting to finish up my "go to" stylers before I try out the brand. Your hair is growing! Another gorgeous wash and go ❤️

The hold is strong!). Last but not least is the Bomb A** Fro hair jelly (Provides a medium/strong hold). Nature's Little Secret, and the Bomb a** Fro are both black owned, women owned brands. Hey, Britanny! I appreciate you and your channel fr!! Lovely results, as always 😊 Your hair is growing so fast! It's a close race, but I think I prefer this week's results👀 I can't wait to finally try UFD + Innersence. My "no-buy" this summer to use up my stash went pretty well, but come fall I'm donating the few products I have left and trying out new products that are Black Girl Curls inspired. My "wash n go summer" has come to an end though. I'm getting passion twists this week and I'll wear them for a month or so before doing knotless braids as my back to schools style 💇‍♀My summer struggle was def longevity! My wash n go would not last for anything and it was only w/ this week's wash n go that I think I finally figured it out: 1. I need *crunch* w/ my wash n go. Mine was frizzing out the next day or two and I thought it was just the southern humidity, but products played SUCH a big role. Double gelling is really the move! 2. Preserving at night: I tried everything...bonnets, scrunchies, banding, a buff (I didn't like it...my hair would be super stretched in the back and it just looked wonky). Nothing worked! Until last week when I wore a twist out and I simply tied my hair down with a silk scarf at night. I didn't have to ponytail my hair or do anything extra, just cover my hair as is and secure it at the nape of my neck. To think something so simple would be my saving grace! I tried it this week for my wash n go and it's working well thus far! I'm so happy 😭 I even did the twist out bc I was lowkey about to give up on my wash n go but to think it gave me a breakthrough! I see a lot of people in the comments recommending a silk scarf and I concur! I'm sorry for the long comment (as always lol) but I'm looking forward to your next upload! P.S @13:48 had me weak💀

👋🏾 no, I appreciate you! That’s good to hear. It can be really difficult for me to use up products as opposed to just adding onto the stash. And the same, I definitely donate my products to my family that I don’t use. OMG yes. It took me forever to realize that crunch equals longevity. For the longest time I avoided all gel because I thought that eco-Styler and wetline extreme were the only gels I could use on my hair because that’s all I really saw on KZread. And the idea of adding not one, but TWO gels to my head was ridiculous. But now, with all of the newfound information coming out and how much more we know about our hair, I realize that I’m more of a Custard girl than anything. It took me a while to get to the double-gelling. One thing I will say though, is that I just realized how dry my hair gets week after week when I don’t use a leave in conditioner. Just a random sidenote/thought. I’m about to start incorporating that a lot more again. I’ve been using a scarf for the past few days and it is game changing. At first, I thought it would just fall off my head at night so it didn’t really entice me. The whole point of a bonnet was to keep my hair protected rather than have something slipping off my head every night, but I have not had that issue at all. I’m excited because I love scarves so now I get to go shopping for scarves 😋 honestly, I love how much you write in the comments. Please do continue to write me a book 🤣 and let me know how your hair turns out. Passion twists are mad cute! I be looking like a ghost with my mineral sunscreen LMAOOO I never notice until I get home from the gym and I’m like welp 😩😂

Do you find that using a leave in gives you less hold/days from your wash n go? I'm still figuring out what works best for my hair/what look I want from my wash n go styles so in the future I think I will experiment with custards/leave ins again. I'm going to try to keep it simple as I transition into a new routine though since I'm a recovering product junky now ig😪 Ah I'm happy the scarf is working out for you! And same for shopping for new ones! Scarves don't count in recovery...right🙈 I so appreciate that you appreciate my novels!! I'll keep them coming 💀 And the passion twists turned out so cute and I love them! I think I might do them again instead of the braids, but I'm so indecisive. You gotta do what you gotta do, girl! This is another way you inspire me: knowing I can keep my hair looking good while putting in that work😤 Do you think you'd post any more gym content on your channel?

To be frank, a lot of the shapes look undesirable to me. I like body and I like volume. All of these cuts are different and can achieve those things, but it’s really really hard to choose for my face shape and just my overall style. Yes, oddly enough. I typically sit under the dryer for like two hours but it only took about an hour and 15 to an hour and a half.

Hey there! Hair is looking good. 👏🏽👍🏽. In regards to wearing a bonnet, I’ve found that using a large silk (not satin) scarf and tying down my hair gives the best results. Your hair tends to move more in a bonnet which causes friction and leads to frizz. Hope this helps! I enjoy your videos- editing/production is excellent!

See, now this makes sense. I know many people have succeeded with just sleeping on a satin pillowcase, but my hair gets bunched up at night with the friction and, as you said, causes frizzy frizz. I’ll give a silk scarf a try. Thanks so much 🤎

Interesting. I thought both products would be drying just because of the nature of the product, but I found it depended on how much Curly Magic I used. How did you apply them?

This is why I use silk scarves. Bonnets are great for long hair, because it fits everything in. Hair buffs are also good to keep the hair in place at night, 😊

I’ve been using a scarf and I absolutely love it. I’ve also been wearing my bonnets over my scarfs and I like the protection, but it is a little irritating on my ears 🥴 Does a buff make your hair completely flat?

@@BrittanyMia 😂I have not used hair buffs yet. I sometimes use tube scarves. They're made for the neck but do the purpose really well. They make my hair flat and keep it stretched. I just fluff it out for volume. 😊

Ditch the bonnet and get a satin pillowcase

I use a satin pillow now, but mainly for skincare. I worry that my hair product will get on the pillowcase, then transfer over to my skin. I have very sensitive skin and break out easily. Plus, I’m a wild sleeper, so ain’t no way my head is staying on that pillow all night 🌚 🤣. Do you use a satin pillowcase alone? Does it keep your shape intact?

I agree satin/silk pillowcase case for the win. It keeps the curls intact, does not frizz and I my hair falls back into shape soon after I get up.

I noticed that you said you believe that the I create volume work because of your application. What did you do differently with the application? Maybe it was self-explanatory but I'm still not sure! Lol Thank you 😊

  • @BrittanyMia

    @BrittanyMia

For this application, I applied the curly magic all over my hair before going in with the topper. I noticed that since my curls were already clumped, all I had to do was finger detangle a little bit and smooth the create hold into my curls, making the application much faster. I don’t always do this because I have had some issues with detangling ( mainly because I needed a trim), but that application process made it much easier and faster to style my hair. You're welcome 💖

Regarding the bonnet I also have problems so I went back to a silk scarf 🧣 and use a silk pillowcase this seems to give me a longer WNG without the messed up hair in the morning. Follow up I purchased the ICV and I really like it. I use it with UFD and it worked beautifully. I didn’t use much water because the product has a watery texture and you must be careful as to not add additional water or a very small amount. I have gray hair so you really need to smooth it in your hair. The results very amazing and I liked the volume it gave my style. Keep doing your thang 👍🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
