No you were right.its like I've had appts at the hairdresser & sometimes they will get me started with someone else but they will ask first if that's ok & then my usual will takeover.but yes they should have ask you first.

I thought the exact same thing at my nail appt. The other day. At least ask first so you know what you’re in for and if it’s going to take way longer than necessary 🙃 And I can’t believe they wouldn’t have offered the French for free after how long you were there for!

Oh Tarsha i had the same issue with a hairdresser one hour to blow dry my hair she was new i didn't say anything too!gentle hearts haha♥♥

Hi love, I have a reply for your nail issue. I would recommend you go to the same person and schedule appointments with them so you don’t have that issue again .i have a nail tech license and you really get all your experience in at a Salon. Do you think if they asked everyone that a new person is here and would they like to practice on them would they really yes? It’s likely they would say no. It’s like when you worked at subway many moons ago and if someone came in and asked hey if your new you can’t make my sandwich, how else will you get experience. It’s likely that gurl was freaking out and felt so horrible that she was doing such a horrible job overall. Doing nails Takes so many years of experience it’s so difficult to get good and work quickly. I just wanted to offer a bit of perspective so that next time you just book with people that you know so you don’t run into that experience again.

I completely agree and understand - I do think they should still ask to be courteous of people’s time or give a discount for a slower service! I think if you’re paying the same service for someone who is more advanced to someone who is still training it’s a bit off! One of the nail techs I went to at a private salon (she does my hands, not my toes) has had trainees before and she said she’d always ask and do the service for a lower price just so the trainee can practice! ❤️

You’re right in some things but I think when it comes to nails especially when some mistakes or procedures can cause infections etc, businesses should ask. You can’t really compare food preparation with this one, as that probably took them a day to train a person how to make sandwiches. I’ve gone to the dentists before where they ask you if a student hygienist could do my clean for a discounted price and dentist supervision. I think same should apply for nails, or at least let the customer know at the start so they can decide.
