I've watched my 5 brothers play the same exact game and brag about how they've got the girls hooked. They act all charming in the beginning and draw back at the worst possible time, having the girls wondering what THEY did wrong. The best way to handle this type is to act like you don't care whatever they do. They'll be running behind you. BUT, if you have to play that game, you shouldn't want them. They love the chase, the drama.

He seems to lack good communication skills. Thats hard to learn at this big age. For plans to change and him not communicate that to you, I would mention it and if he does it again you have to decide if you wanna constantly tell a man how to love you. If he cant communicate with you, it gives you an indication of how he will communicate as a step father.
