I think looking at situations like you were as outsider is a good idea, because when you’re in a situation it can be hard to really see what’s going on. It was good you did that, and I’m sure you had gut feelings, listen to those because more often than not they are right. My mom had a gut feeling once, but she took the advice from her sister and I unfortunately paid dearly for that advice, which is why I never give any. My daughter went thru something similar last year. She found out that he was entertaining another woman because he had forgotten who he was texting and accidentally told her.

He is in some type of relationship with someone else. That's why he isn't spending the night and keep making and changing plans last minute.

There are plenty of men in this world and if you accept toxicity like that , you will only suffer and suffer and suffer and it will be ONLY your fault. ALWAYS LOOK FOR ACTIONS, and if the words don't go with actions this is a toxic and manipulative person and last thing he wants is to be with you. Time to learn that.
