Ohhh wow, as a content creator I never realise that there’s a divide amongst content creators. I never realised that these are the experiences that black content creators have that experience. BUT never let people make you feel as if you don’t belong‼️If you were invited, you are a part of the platform, you’ve earned your stripes and you are doing really good! I would never let them make me feel this way, I would deliver the EXACT SAME ENERGY! I know how black girls appear but in a case like that walk up to them and see what the vibe is. sometimes people put on that face in anticipation of NOT being well received. So as a content creator I’m gonna walk up to them then check the vibe and then once I confirm their reaction then I reciprocate it.

The world 🌎 is yours for the asking , okay what you do, study the brand and be vocal in the events make an impression with the product presenters and own it ! Do not let your experiences control you . Just be official, research the brands , stand out and be present and win them coins 🪙! It is all about the money 💴 and it’s a jungle out there ! So go for it ! Be open to meeting people and that is how you will break the ice , remember yesterday strategies may not work today, so evolve in how you do things in a bid to forge ahead .

Definitely NY black fashion week is the way forward. I think the mainstream one is the same thing. I have friends in the industry who go and they’ve said exact same thing that there’s not many black women and they didn’t feel welcome to so I think this issue is really everywhere babe unfortunately

I think that as black content creators we have to create our own community where everyone can grow. I see it here in South Africa a lot of content creators collaborate with each other and that is how we get to know everyone and people grow together. I myself am trying to grow my channel but I know a lot of content creators feel that you have to grow yourself first because they think you will feed off their subscribers. It's weird but jah

Unfortunately most of influencers and KZreadrs are nice only via their videos but when you meet them not so much. It’s a shame that someone feels lonely at an event or party. We even teach our kids who are in elementary schools include everyone, respect everyone don’t make anyone feel less than or excluded.

I felt that and I’m not a content creator but I remember running into someone very influential on this platform and instagram and I was beyond myself excited to see her in person. She has always responded to my comments etc she was so cold I couldn’t not Believe it was the same bubbly person on line. But you are truly amazing! Your confidence is unstoppable. Girl i feel u. The same thing happened to me. Until now😂 im shocked what another black girl like me also congolese like me which i know personally to block my number when she agreed to help me and teach me how to edit KZread video as i just started my own channel and do KZread collaboration together. The lack of black supports is alot and u see white ppl supporting one another that why they are more successful then us black, they support each other but us black ppl we see only competition. So white ppl know this and know our weakness and put us in this position. That why us black needs to start our own thing, businesses. when the white ppl dont want us we have our own but at the sametime us black ppl we dont show support and we love to compete with each other.

I have noticed how much divison there is in the UK black influencer and content creator space. Especially in the black Fashion and lifestyle that I watch anyway. It's quite strange as you'd expect to have a few things in common. I have approached a few people both online and at events and it has always been off. And what you said makes sense that people only want to befriend people with connections. I live in Leeds, and there aren't even many of us here. I always admire other countries and their togetherness. `the collaborations of it all. I really would like a sisterhood and like you said women on the same wavelength. Edwige, you are a vibe. I do think one of the few people who can bring other girlies together. Brunches, travel all of that. Luxury and soft of course. And oh, a lot of events are still inviting creators as inclusivity fillers. and thank you for the skin care tips.

It’s really sad that we can’t stick together. I think as black people we have our own issues, we are on our own enemies. Literally I say this all the time I think when we decide to start loving ourselves things will. I definitely I think we need to create our own events, our own safe space where we feel safe where we feel wanted. May God help us honestly

When you meet content creators, understand many of them are trying to cuktivate a fake lifestyle narrative. They live their lives as if they are perfect but you do not so you come across as genuine. Its refreshing....be you and do you. Connect with who connects with you and leave those dust bunnies where they are at....on the ground

I’m sorry to hear about the socialising experience in your industry. This is just my 2 cents based on observation. The herd mentality you describe comes from insecurity and feeling threatened- sometimes based on stereotypes, prejudice, or just good old ignorance. Also, not every female with an expensive handbag is educated or cultured and that shows in various ways, which is not always positive. As for the black girls that curb you, pray for them baby girl. Edwidge, I understand how you feel about events in which other black women are stand offish with one another. Thats an age old problem that stems back to our mothers time. There is no reason to be jealous of one another, because no matter what your status is in any industry or field we really are the same. That silly dillusional attitude of grandeur and that they are better or special is absurd. We are all in the same struggle . We should be supportive and encouraging to one another and understand that our success really is dependent upon each others. Don t be discouraged ,all of us are not that way. There are some really good black women out there who understands the struggle and are kind , friendly and willing to go that extra mile for one another. Don t let anyone change you because of their ignorance, and stop you from attending the event. View the events as empowerment tools to gain knowledge and expand your platform. If you are experiencing this nonsence on a regular basis you are on the right track and thats your green light to keep going forward , There is room at the top .

He Edwige! This is my first time commenting on one of your videos. I like your robe. I understand how you feel regarding being the only "black" person at an event, place, or space. I feel the same way. This happens everywhere, not just at KZread events. I've been the only black person in a class, event or job. I must say, it does seem very "challenging" to make friends with black women, and I don't know why. Black women really need to be mm or supportive of one another, because NO ONE else is willing to or are supporting us. Hopefully this changes soon. I am also a novice in the "social media" world. I just started my channel, and that's one of my fears, not making friends. However, next year I plan to really step out and be more open.
