I completely agree with the not liking the term “self care” because people over use it and turn it almost selfishly… thank you so much for your godly household homemaker vulnerability and transparency! I so enjoy watching your videos that you put out. ❤️

The other thing I add to my Sunday reset which pays dividends through the week is to refill all the canisters in my pantry. Sounds like such a simple thing, but going to the pantry to pull things out on Monday morning for breakfast or lunches etc, only to find the canister almost empty is annoying. I spend 10 min or so on a Sunday refilling dishwasher tablets, sugar/flour etc canisters, hand soaps etc and my future self definitely thanks me!

I love the term self-care! I think of it as being kind to myself like I would anyone else. I believe it’s part of loving myself and, with it, experiencing God loving me, so that I feel cared for and have the inner resources to be in a place to love others well. It feels for me the opposite of selfish. It is like your home reset. I feel reset and cared for so I can really reach out with my tank full. Part of self-care is spending time with Jesus and letting Him pour His words, thoughts, and presence into my mind and heart and spirit. It’s a beautiful thing, which I thank God for!❤

It is self-care. And we are all God’s children and worthy of self-care. I think it is absolutely a life changing tool to support us serving others even more fully! I think self-care gets a bad wrap because people assume that’s all one does. Like I eat well, exercise, pray and have tea, but I don’t do a thing for anyone else…? I always feel so inspired by your organization😊

I absolutely love this!!! I do a weekly reset every Sunday but somehow don’t feel “complete”. I’m going to use your printable this next week, and I’m confident it will remedy that. I don’t like the term self-care either because it’s a slippery slope to idolizing self for the christian. I love Allie B. Stuckey’s book, “You’re Not Enough, and That’s ok.” I actually talked about it in my faith mommy morning basket. Have you read it? I think you’d really enjoy it. Great motivation❤

I think calling what the world calls “self care” the Bible refers to it as self love. If you don’t treat yourself well, you won’t treat others as well. If you don’t care for yourself, you won’t care for others. We treat other people out of the well of our own self-esteem. And if your well is dry you don’t have any self-esteem you can give it to another person You can’t value someone else because you have no value for yourself. The Bible says we are to love our neighbors as we love ourselves - means we are to love other people to the degree that we love ourselves if we don’t love ourselves, we don’t have any love to give to those around us. Mathew 22:39. This has helped me so much to understand this and to know God wants me to love myself so I can fully love others.❤

I’m with ya on the “self care” movement and term. I don’t like it and prefer talking about things more in terms of daily disciplines and specifics based on what the task is. Like skin or oral care. There is something unbiblical about the “self love” “love yourself” movement. We are responsible for taking good care of our bodies and serving and loving others. Great video! ❤

I don't like the connotations for how the term "self-care" is used today even among Christians.
