The ULTIMATE Reusable Weekly Planning Board (Build it with me)

The ULTIMATE Reusable Weekly Planning Board (Build it with me) is the culmination of a long thinking process about what is serving me and what isn't.
At the start of 2023, I created my first vision board for the year. It helped me keep sight of the big picture, and I saw it every day when I came into my home office. At the end of the year, I felt incredibly proud of my progress. I created a new one for 2024. And while I love both of my vision boards, they are the direction, the big picture.
They aren't a reflection of how I break down each big item into months, weeks, days, and hours to move closer toward the vision. When I use my color-coded Outlook calendar on my laptop, I find myself inevitably distracted by email, jolting me out of the moment and affecting my productivity.
In this video, I'll walk you through my process of creating a reusable magnetic board for planning my week. This magnetic sheet is 16 by 24 inches, and I'll be peeling the back off and putting it on the wall next to my desk. The smaller magnetic sheets will be used for the various blocks of my day.
This is about getting it all done without sacrificing flexibility while being accountable to what I need to accomplish. I'll set my schedule from 6 am to midnight, organizing tasks in blocks. I'll color-code my activities for quick visual reference. For example, I'll use red for KZread work, separating it into production, pre-production, and post-production.
The goal is to have a visual representation of my week, helping me stay focused and avoid distractions from my digital calendar. By stepping back and seeing my plan on the wall, I can ensure I'm aligned with my vision and balanced in my activities, maybe that's work life balance, but really, what I'm going for is unstructured time each day where the moment can take me wherever I feel and not everything is so go-go-go.
Thanks for joining me, and I'll leave a few images here at the end. Take care and stay true to yourself.

I prefer vision boards over new year's resolutions. And this is my updated way of making weekly progress while still keeping unstructured time in my schedule. Hope you don't mind the super casual approach! Would you try this?

Absolutely brilliant! I think I'll use this to visualize my ideal week. Instead of the whiteboard you used here, I think I'll use the one I purchased at IKEA for $8 since it is metal and has more structure. This also looks like a project for the cricut machine! ☺

In hindsight, the functionality is great but the creation effort and how professional it looks is lacking. Love your idea of a whiteboard and yes, cricut for sure!
