Gretchen those dreams you have with your dad are sent from him as a reminder that he is always with you. After losing someone close to me, I would have very vivid dreams with them in it and they were often very beautiful and comforting. Over time, I started to "forget" the way they look, sound and smell even though I didn't do this intentionally. These dreams, looking at old pics and smelling his clothing are all reminders of a spiritual world beyond life. He is and always will be with you, even if it isn't here on earth. Love you always! Sending thoughts and prayers

It's been 7 years since my grandpa died, and I was very close with him. He died my junior year of high school. I still to this day cry randomly missing him. He had his own band, and the songs he used to sing when they come on the radio it makes me sad. I never used to be the person to go out to cemetery, I would legit be freaked out and scared of them. Ever since he died I feel peace when I go there and sit at his grave. In May I went through something very horrible with a guy and I went and sat by my grandpa's grave for over an hour listening to Christian music and just sitting in the quiet praying.

It will be 20 years this October that I lost my dad to lung cancer. You will always be emotional about the memories but it does get easier to talk about him without crying. Believe it will get easier but your loss is super fresh so never feel bad for crying. It's completely healthy. I lost my dad right after my 11th birthday. I am so happy that you got to spend 22 glorious years with your dad. I even cherish the 11 I got to spend with mine. Know that he is always with you and he shows up in your dreams because he knows when you need to see him.

Gretchen, I want to make a longer post about this at a later time but.. my dad was diagnosed with ALS a few months ago and it’s been really tough. Watching your videos and listening to your podcast has helped me immensely. You are allowing me to give myself grace (as you said) and understand it’s okay to not always have the answers and practice to be present and grateful for what we do have. I really want to thank you, and just know if anything you’ve really helped me feel less alone and scared of the unknown. So much love to you. Keep on keeping on❤️

you can have more than one bank ! - tbh I have 3, i use them for different things and it really helps with keeping track of finances - one I use for things like bills another for saving, so i don't look at it or touch it unless I need to and another is where i have my free-to-spend money. My best advice would to keep your home one but also get a national one so you can access anywhere - and now with online banking and vemno etc its really easy to move money.

Ηi, so I work for Amica Insurance as an underwriter! My advice is to cxl your renters policy while you are living at home. All your personal property is covered under your mum’s HO policy! You can restart your renters insurance once you are living in PA w/ Max. On the auto policy, this depends on who your insurance company is, but where your car is being garaged is where your auto policy should be based. If you are planning on living in PA full-time with your car garaged there for more than 3 months, I would advise re-registering your car in PA. The issue with not saying anything is that some insurance companies can reserve the right to non renew your policy due to eligibility requirements. I know you said you will plan to buy a place in MA in the future, but if you don’t have solidified plans for that and are going to be in PA for a longer time....I would re register your car. You may be able to get away with keeping your MA DL tho! I know its tricky when you are basically moving short term, but you do want your car reg/insured in the state that it is garaged to insure the best coverage! If you keep your MA policy, there could be issues as I know the MA DMV has a lot of rules and regulations ... more than some states. Double check the PA DMV as well! Hopefully this helps! Love your videos !

I just want to say how much I absolutely love the videos where you share you grieving! I lost my mom 3 years ago. Its still hard, and i still cry, so hearing others stories of there feelings and, struggles and how they handle loosing a parent and, someone close helps,so much! Keep talking, about,it. After 3 years if i can say anything it would be to keep talking and keep remembering with your family. Keep him as alive in your life as you can. Talk to him. It may sound crazy to some people but it,helps. Love you! And maybe ill see you around Boston when you make it back there in the future! Good luck in Albany and PA.😍

I’m so sorry for your loss, you’re such an amazing influence and I truly don’t know how you stay so positive ❤️ When I would go to my grandmas house, I would think in my head like of course she’s here but like she’s not so it was weird. Also, when you describe your dad, he reminds me so much of my dad like calling him for every single thing. ❤️ Keep your head up, you’re so beautiful and Max loves you so much!!

You are supposed to notify the car insurance when you move (even if it’s a simple move to a different part of the same town), but you may be able to avoid it by not telling them you moved for as long as reasonably possible. You can do the same with registration- wait until it’s about to expire, then register in the state you live in. If you don’t need renters insurance (not all places require it) you can get away with not updating your home address for some time and sliding through the cracks! This may not be the most honest thing to do but it’s easy to get away with and we all know the DMV and registration fees suck!

When you're in the environment where you spent most of the time with a loved one who has passed, the memories are everywhere and you're face-to- face with their absence. I understand exactly what you mean about it being hard to be at home, which was the center of your dad's world. My parents have both passed away. I have my dad's old hat he used to wear in the garden. It still has some of his sweat stains on it and I can't bear to part with it. My mother's old anitque dresser recently found a new home in my home. Every time I open a drawer, I am reduced to a puddle of tears. It still smells just like her.

I work with SOOOO many home disaster clients. YES get renter's insurance. You do have to tell them you're moving because it can change how much you're paying and if you were to have a fire or disaster in your home it would not cover it if the address wasn't updated. You do not need an in-state license to get renter's insurance, I had a Nevada license and am currently living in Illinois.

About the renter's insurance, you can keep whatever ID, and have whatever license plates and just get renters insurance from someone other than your car insurance. I moved back to Colorado this year after going to college in Hawaii. I still have Hawaii plates, a Colorado driver's license and Hawaii insurance but I went through just a random renters insurance I googled and they don't care at all if your car insurance is different.

Yes! Most places require renters insurance when you move into an apartment. I would say that maybe you can update the address that your car is parked most of the time (which I assume will be in Pennsylvania) but I’m sure they won’t make you change the state that you’re registered in because it’s only a temporary move. I would call your insurance agency! Also, for your bank, just start to look at your your bank statements and write down throughout the month the different automatic recurring charges that you have like your car payment, insurance, Spotify, etc. that way you don’t have to get overwhelmed to do it all at once. Once you gather this, I would just open a savings and a checking or more than one at a national bank and start to switch everything over. Normally the bank you currently are with can give you a list of recurring charges you have every month! I’m sorry this is a ramble but I’ve dealt with a lot of this since post grad too and it sucks because it’s so much work but I think it’s easiest when you do it as a process not all at once

Meanwhile I’m always scrambling to change my address every time we move :( Only thing that sucks is if you get pulled over police will give you a hard time for not having it updated. But just say you’re visiting, until you’re in your own (long term) home! Hope this helps!!

Most apartments require renters insurance. Some properties have a company that they work with so you can keep your renters and car insurance separate, but it may be more expensive that way. The only thing about having your car registered to another state is that most states require you to register your car in the state of your residence.

All states have different rules, for example when my family moved from North Carolina to Texas they had a rule that you have 90 days from the day you move to change your drivers license/ plates over. So check PA’s dmv rules :). I use lemonade for renters insurance! Very affordable and if you talk to your service provider for it you should be able to pause it till Pennsylvania and then change the address (obv your rates will change) but yeah!

I feel you on putting on makeup. I leave the house so rarely now there's no point in doing so. I miss it so much that just going to the grocery store is cause for me to go full glam makeup and even dress up better than I normally might.

Hi Gretchen! Mid twenties advice here from someone that’s lived in to two states post grad :) If your move to Pennsylvania is truly temporary you can probably get away with not switching your residency. You don’t need to get renters through the same company as your car insurance. That being said, if you live in the state of Pennsylvania you should technically establish residency there. I have no idea if this actually happens but I have been told if you get in an accident or pulled over and they realize you live there you can get some kind of penalty. Not totally sure of the legitimacy of this, but because of this I have always just switched my registration over to my new state. Hope this helps!

With the OLLY sleep gummies I only take half of one every night and it’s the perfect amount. Try only taking half of one and it will put you to sleep but with no crazy dreams or trouble waking up!!!

went through the EXACT same issue with renters and car insurance last year. I keep my car registered at my parents’ house, so that’s the address on my car insurance and license. I tried to get my renters insurance (for my apartment in a different city than my parents’ house) through the same company but it just was too complicated/they wouldn’t let me have two addresses- so I went with a totally separate company for my renters’ insurance. I’ve done that for the past year and it has been totally fine, no issues!

i’ve lived in california for two years and still have all michigan stuff with my car/ insurance, etc. If you aren’t going to stay there for sure for more than two years i wouldn’t switch it. Your insurance will still cover if things happen in Pennsylvania!
