A couple years ago I drove my wife back home from the airport following her month-long work trip. She was mad at me. As soon as we got home, she got even madder, because I'd cleaned the house and scrubbed the floors and she couldn't be mad at me for not cleaning in her absence. Her solution was to start moving furniture just to find dirt that she could clean up. Good times.

I clean when I'm mad... It's not that I am aggressively folding the laundry... It's not folding the laundry at all because your insides are exploding and just going through the motions ... Yeah, nothing more infuriating than hearing "I'm fine", and you know they are not. It creates such a BS line of conversation where your trying to just get the reason out so it can be addressed. By the time your finally told an argument is already on the way, so the problem cannot be addressed with calmer minds. It's a form of emotional abuse. People can be upset and not take it out on you, but we all know that the behavior is meant to draw attention. That's okay, sooner or later the game ends when the person who cares stops trying to get the information, and just says "alright" and walks away. (BTW, it's not just women who do this nonsense, just thought I'd mention).
incredibly on point
