It is a long story how I, a Tamil, got inexplicably enamoured by the music of the Seven Sisters (Chrisrina Shakum is the youngest eighth ) though I do not understand or can even recognize any of the languages spoken there. When I heard Vangkojol for the first time, I was dumbstruck by the music and the Oh,What a voice!. The high notes Benny hit were incredible. I have heard the song hundreds of times in the 4 months since I discovered it, feeling rejuvenated each time in spite of not having a clue what the song was about. I am sad, really sad. It is going to take a while to get used to the fact that songs of the calibre of Vangkojol won't come forth any longer. Goodbye my friend.......though you never knew I existed.
