(Our) Quick tips: Avoid Pier 39 area unless you enjoy tourism trinket atmosphere on steroids, DO the Exploratorium even if you don't have kids, take a stroll around the Palace of Fine Arts and the Presidio. We wanted to tour Alcatraz, but figured it was a bit dark for a 4 year old.
