REBEL KITTENS: Sokka and Suki have getting way too much freedom and it's backfiring. Yesterday, I took a nap and woke up smelling something funky, turns out one of them peed on my bed - TWICE. They are now back in the foster room for extended periods of time until they are another week older and can remember how to get back to the litter boxes.
COPPER & KITTENS: Given he's met over 15 kittens by now since I adopted him, he can quickly adapt to new ones within 1-2 days. I used to have to leash him hard as he would try to chase them, but he's now learned that being too desperate makes them scared and run away. If he stays calm, they will come out and hang out around him - just like Jade. But sometimes he still gets too excited and can't control himself. If I'm also not in the room, he will try to mouth and lick them and I notice it too late since the kittens are already soaking wet in his drool.
BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR: Given my family history of strokes with every grandparent on every side, I'm starting to measure by blood pressure in the mornings with a proper device and not just a heart rate monitor on my watch. So far so good, clocking in at under 120 / 80. Living alone means you need to take extra precautions in case things happen, so this is being prudent.
BIKING: Given it was the "fool's spring" this week with 65F weather, the entire city was outside at parks today. In the morning, I did a bike ride across the entire Manhattan island and recorded it with a GoPro. One day, I will be too old to do this ride so it's good to capture it on footage while I still can. Battery Park is under renovations now, which was a shocker. Usually I take a break there and watch the Statue of Liberty. East side river is still under construction too, and riding through Chinatown is annoying with all the stop and go. At home point, I hope the entire Manhattan island can be biked in one giant path without going on local streets. Fingers crossed!
