My morning routine consist of running handfuls of water through my beard, patting it mostly dry and then applying the bear oil. I comb the oil through with my wooden come in different directions and finish out with a boars hair brush. Weekends and such are oil only days and I am good to go. Otherwise I put a little butter in there for the day.

I run my beard under the sink with cold water, comb it out apply about half a dropper of oil, wait 10 minutes and blowdry/comb on medium heat. Then I use a very small amount of unscented butter (about the size of a peanut) and add about 3 drops of what oil I picked out for the day and hit the cold button on the dryer and do my final comb threw

My routine for my short-medium beard is washing every other day, conditioning once per week, oil every morning, using heat (Aberlite heated brush + blow dryer) about 5 mins after applying oil. Also use a mixture of combs and brushes.

So RealTalk Man. The Aberlite Pro is $120 for a corded model. I don't mind spending that much for a heated brush. It's within my budget, I have the money. That said, it's two to three times more expensive than other heated brushes. When I google "Best Beard Straightener Heated Brush" it's not included on anyone else's lists that I can see and most of their top picks are under $60. While a $120 brush doesn't necessarily have to be twice as good as a $60 brush, I would hope there'd be some significant improvements for twice the price. This channel hasn't steered me wrong so far on recommendations and help but this one here stands out. Is it significantly better? Why? I watched the video from a couple of years ago than Dan did and unfortunately he didn't go into detail about what's special on this brush for twice the money. Thanks. Love your content, Mayor. I myself am on the journey from stubble to a medium "business" beard and you've been great.

Hey Eric, I will give my feedback on this and I’m sure the mayor will be happy to give his as well. 1) any of those lists you google are either: - “pay to play” where you get on the list by paying the fee. It’s the same thing if you google “best beard oils” and you get lists full of silicone crap. - blog style websites that are full of amazon affiliate links or SEO key terms to get you to click. They make money off of every click and more off of Amazon affiliate clicks 2) This is the best heated brush I have ever used, and I have used a lot 😂 and before the accusations swirl (not saying from you lol) I bought my first aberlite heated brush and have never made a penny off them. 3) it is the world’s second completely designed heated brush for beards. They did not take a head hair straightener and put a beard logo on it or buy a dropship one and put their logo on it. The kushelbar being the other and the first, which is another great option! Price range was almost identical until very recently, where kushelbar slashed their prices. I’m not sure why, but there has to be a reason. 4) I love the spacing the of the teeth. I love how fast and consistent it heats up. I love the swivel cord. I love how I have used the same one since it came out and haven’t had a single problem. It just works amazingly and is backed by a great company!

Eric- you have a very good question. In my opinion the heating element/ brush head has technology that no one else does resulting in being gentle, applying heat more evenly, and getting the job done faster than anything else I’ve tried. That said, there plenty good heated brushes at the lower price point.👊

@@mayorsbeardjourney409 thanks for the reply! Just a quick product question. You mentioned using water prior to applying heat. Aberlite recommends their heat shield spray which looks a lot like beard oil to me. Can I use my regular Beard Octane oil to protect my beard prior to applying heat or do I need this additional product?

I shower in the evening due to my job. I wash almost every night after work from the sweat and mask/breath condensation buildup. I skip washes on days off unless I get sweaty/dirty. In the mornings I dampen the beard, comb a little, add some oil, then comb or brush thoroughly. Much respect Mayor for your brave journey, thanks for taking us with you!

Keep on dropping the knowledge mayor. Fantastic growth! It's like a little reward that boar's hair brush. My current morning routine - beard wash 5x a week and conditioner 1x a week. Apply beard oil, blow dry and heated brush on mustache and sideburns. Mustache wax and then cold blast from hair dryer to lock everything in place

I apply oil at night to my mustache after a shower, but if you are using mustache wax, the oil will make it soft. Mustache wax is oil soluble and will not hold, but I do get it to the skin at night... Just for future reference for when the mayor has a handlebar and monocle... 🤣😂🤣

Great video Steve! Awesome break down on a basic morning beard routine 💯💯 My routine is a bit complex for my long beard. Basically it entails a morning and night routine, using washes, exfoliation, conditioners, hot water rinses, cold water rinses, oils, heat, butters at bed time. Rinses in the morning, more oil and heat with a blow dryer and comb. It’s all really fun for me! 💯💯💯👊🤘
