Weed Identification and Control Part 1

The first of two lectures on weed identification techniques and some methods of control. Here, Tom Lanini, UC Cooperative Extension Weed Ecologist, makes his presentation to UC Master Gardener students about various weed control methods.     On geese: Not all dogs and cats will leave day-old goslings alone. Geese on lawns: if confined to a pen sized for the number pf geese (wood frome or 'PermaNet' electrified netting) - and MOVED, preferably daily - to a fresh area of lawn, the geese stay healthy and the grass is 'mown' uniformly. Goats - that image is of deer, ('fallow deer, I beleive) NOT goats!! Sheep can be useful on brush, depending on the breed and the height &type of brush. Ask a knowledgeable shepherd, or read

    This guy say that herbicides do not kill micro-organisms. Master Gardeners are a joke. I think this guy is on Mosanto's pay roll.

    I have IPM experience. This guy has no idea what hes talking about. Organic processes first.
