Very helpful video my question is can you show how to open the hood? Thank you 🙏

Wow, this was so helpful. I just moved into an apartment with a Wedgewood almost exactly like this one. I had been wondering about the different burner tops, as I find it difficult to boil water on the larger burner top. Also very helpful to know that I can remove the drip pan in the oven, what a great feature. Would you say you also need to preheat the broiler for 20 minutes, like the oven? Thanks for posting this.

Just tumbling down the wonderful rabbit hole of vintage stoves -- subscribed! I am hoping to have a vintage range for my home and would love to be able to know how to do general maintenance. I'd also love to see a video for prospective "first time," vintage stove buyers -- maybe a bit of history, what to look for in a stove, how to find a local repair/parts shop, good stoves for "beginners," etc. Thank you!!

I just moved into a new home that already had one of these vintage Wedgewood stoves and we noticed that that the pilot light makes the metal on the oven top extremely hot. When I put droplets of water on the metal it immediately boiles and sizzles away. It's definitely not say for me to touch and would burn me. Is this normal for a stove from that time? My landlord insist this is how cast iron works and tells me to be careful to not burn myself or to not start a fire :/

Yes it is. The pilot gives off a lot of heat. It is conmen questing I get. Thank you.

I have a Wedgewood stove very close to this red one. The black button on the oven light came out and is now lost. How is this replaced?

You can do a search on line for light switches, and find one that looks like it work the same way and replace it.

Why does my wood wedge stove temperature not working right ? I put a new Thermostat in .

Temperature is regulated by the thermostat. That would be the first thing I would check. So have your thermostat check to see if it is working properly. Sometimes you can get a defective new thermostat.

Do you restore Wedgewood stoves? If yes, where are you located? Currently, my oven won’t light. The pilot is on, but nothing happens when I turn the knob. No gas smell, just not lighting.

You may have to light the pilot and the press the red button on the saftey valve, which on mine, is located on the top right rear , visible when you lift the top of the stove up. This valve allows gas to flow to the oven burner. The pilot light thermocouple powers this valve.
