In the 2021-2022 basketball season, Weddington high school went undefeated at 31-0 and won the North Carolina 4A State Championship. This was on the heels of going 18-0 and winning the 3A title a year prior.
The team was ranked 13th nationally by Ball is Life and by MaxPreps.
