    Karaoke is always a hit. Whether it is a competition, group Karaoke, or just random.

    Wow, I love the trivia idea too! As someone who is not a big dancer, I’m always looking for alternative entertainment ideas. This was great!

    If I had an unlimited budget: I'd hire a carousel, giant slide and hook a duck for entertainment. I'm only 18 but I've become hooked on wedding videos

    We will be having our wedding reception outside at a park pavilion, so we will definitely be having lawn games! I think limbo would be fun too!

    Hi, i loved your video! The german magazine thing is called "Hochzeitszeitung". It is kind of common in Germany and you can also make it for big Anniversaries like 25 or 50 years. I know it as a magazine where every guest designs one page and fills it with advice, stories and fotos. More like an alternative guestbook that is made in advance. :)

    Thankyou. My family wanted me to do 2 separate weddings. One for american and one for Igbo but... I'm like "cmon mom, no one cares about the american stuff. We can get that over with in an hour and our tradition is plenty entertaining!"

    What are some ideas , you can do in covid restrictions for receptions? Great ideas !

  • @cavinelizabeth

    @cavinelizabeth

    I honestly suggest postponing until Covid is over. Otherwise, distanced lawn games, trivia, and some of the other ideas I mentioned would work. Group activities and entertainment are going to be much harder to execute with proper Covid precautions, unfortunately.

    As a professional bellydancer, it's not at all weird for someone who isn't Middle Eastern to involve bellydance in their wedding. It's more common than you think!

    I love the idea of the scavenger hunt! I was trying to figure out how I could include me and my fiance's love of video games into our wedding without it seeming really geeky, but maybe I could hide small things along the center pieces that people could search for. Maybe have a list on a sign, or something like that. It could be a little figurines of pokémon for example, that would be really cute I think lol. I love that idea I'm going to mention it to my fiance tonight

    Hi! Love your video as always ❤ I'm curious, if I have a morning church ceremony but want an afternoon/evening reception, how can I ensure guests stay entertained for that time gap? Thank you!!

    I would list out local activities on your wedding website that they can do. Or provide light refreshments and a lounge space and lawn games like a "light cocktail hour" of sorts.

    Hey Alyssa, we are completely in the same boat! We are overcoming this by offering champagne and appetizers right after our ceremony while we do photos, setting up a cheap photo booth, setting up Jenga and having another decorated area to receive and greet guests where they can take photos with us, we are also hiring a live musician for guests to enjoy at the same time

    During dinner there is sometimes a slideshow (do we still call it that, or am I aging myself?) accompanied with music & is all about the couple. Photos & videos from when they were babies all the way through to the present day. Often someone (sometimes the DJ/host/emcee) will narrate the slideshow. It can be funny & very sweet.

    I don’t see slideshows often. I wouldn’t recommend them unless you have it playing off to the side. When it becomes a “show” it can often get dull bc it goes on too long. But I think it you keep the time under 5 min and perhaps the idea of a host with lots of charisma could be great. Anything to keep it from becoming boring ☺️

    You can still do most of these with smaller weddings :) Lawn games are great too. Very casual and great for smaller groups.
