Wedding march from Jämtland (jämtländsk brudmarsch) - Scandi Folk Tune #22

Let's learn a gorgeous, melancholic, grandiose tune from the mountainous region of Jämtland in Sweden. It is a very well-known tune of the scandinavian repertoire, sometimes a bit over-played perhaps, but it's SO beautiful ! Also some infos about the region itself. And double-stops.
Difficulty level : 2 (easy, no climbing on nyckelharpa)

Jämtlands different dialects is actually recognised as a langue by the EU, regional langue, and it is called jamska. And what you are playing now is by many refered to as national anthem.

Go for it, it's one of these simple tunes which are really rewarding and still are great to play after years ! Yes I'm quite proud of this way of putting double-stops on screen, I wonder why I never thought of that before ^^'

Thanks, it's getting better and better but it's not 100% yet. Nyckelharpa is the most problematic instrument for now, sadly =/

Very nice! I know that Stockholms Spelmansgille plays this a little differently in the second half of the first A-part. It's always fun to hear and compare different versions of the songs you know. Hope your knee gets better soon!

Yes there are always different versions, I have a vals in 8 versions (and they're really different) and new ones pop up every now and then ! Thanks, my knee got better but now it's my finger being a trouble -_-

Please do not apologise for playing a tune that has lyrics that honor the efforts of the forefathers. It is not respectful. Do remember to whom you owe gratitude for the Scandi folk music to be existing at all: The forefathers (in Jamska = 'fedran'). Actually, without certain prominent Jamts there would only be Kalinka here since the 1800's circa. This is really true. Russian trad. music is nice, but I think you get what was the point. I hope you can understand that I write this in all well-meaning. Greetings from "Sweden" :)
