In fact, the Lors are the most authentic Persians from the people of Cyrus the Great, i.e. Pars And the Kurds are from the Medes These two Aryan peoples who are in the western half of the Iranian plateau along with the Parthian people who are in the eastern half are the three big peoples that make up the great Iran. The first strong government among these three peoples is related to the Medes, but the first government that was able to unite all three groups and expand it on the level of the ancient world was Persia, and this is how the first great world government was formed under the name of Achaemenids by Cyrus the Great, and for this reason, all Iranians are still generally called Persians.

My husband is Lur. He always strongly points that they are not the same and never been the same. He actually knows Lurs nearer to Persians than Kurds and believes Kurds have started considering them as Kurds in recent years. So, in historic perspective they were always separated. I am from Iran and my major is related to these matters. As an Iranian we always consider Kurds and Lurs so seperated. Their language, clothes, lifestyle, religion, behaviors all are different clearly. 2 of my classmates were Kurd and Lur and they were not even friends! My Lur classmate was Bakhtiari and her best friend was Turk, while my Kurd friend was from Uraman and some of her relatives were in Iraq and she also doesn't know the other friend as Kurd. My other classmate was from Kermanshah where both Lurs and Kurds live together she also doesn't know the Bakhtiari friend Kurd! But the Ourami yes! In Iran it is so famous that Lur people have always strong role to defend Iran and love Iran. Bibi Maryam Bakhtiari, Shir Alimardoon Bakhtiari are two of our heroes and theirs names and memories have entered to the local songs of Lur people. On the other hand, Lur people in Iraq have assimilated in Kurdish society and because of Kurds advertisment you think Lurs might historically related to Kurds! During last year, two Lur children were killed by Islamic republic: Nika Shakarami, Kiyan Pirfalak. Those families showed their loyalty to Iran like their ancestors while Kurds didn't even say Lur people any thanks or feel sad of them!

I have a question about Lorestani culture, and specifically Lorestani women. My great grandmother was from Borujerd, Lorestan. She had tattoos on her face, specifically the mouth area, the tattoos were dot like and blue green colored. I haven't been able to find much about anyone knowing tattoos among the Lors. I don't know how they call it in luri but we kurds have the same. We call that taq. But also the berbers in marocco have that. Even the scythians and the old germanic tribe had that. Again i don't know why lurs used that but we kurds use that to calm the ghosts😅 But since kurds and lurs live next to each other and had influenced each other it could be that the lurs used that for the same reason🤔

As I explained in the previous comment, Persians and Medes are two groups of Aryans who settled in the western plateau of Iran. Lore is an south western Iranian language like Persian. Kurdi is northerwester iranian branch which is close to Laki/Pahlevani, and Zaza and Gilaki etc
