Eric didn't choose wedding filmmaking. Wedding filmmaking chose Eric! You're an incredible storyteller dude!

I find it funny when creatives look down on projects like weddings. As an artist, one of your goals is likely to move people and make a profound impact on them. That day is one of the core milestones in their lives and that footage is something they will cherish, along with their extended family and even children, for the rest of their days. It should be seen as an honor.
In tears from laughing and crying in the same video? Check. Well done, brother ❤️

Ditto!! Great stuff from Eric!
This is actually super encouraging... I am currently doing wedding films and always feel like I should get out of it as soon as I can. However, I don't get as much gratefulness and love from the client as much as I do from wedding clients. I also feel really good about each project and am the most proud when its all finished.
THIS and You are just some of the reasons that Im choosing to stay in the wedding filmmaking industry and am sooo grateful for it. Incredible work as always.

Let's go, man!! So happy to know you, dude.
This is the exact reason I do it. Sometimes I have to hold back tears when looking through the raw footage, before any music, colors, or edits are done because the stories and the meaning behind what is said and what is captured is so important.

I guess I’m in good company. There’s always someone cutting onions next to my office when I edit. 😄
So great and I wish that more commercial filmmakers would see this. It's that feeling when you've been working on a wedding film for days and days and you think is it good enough as it is and that voice in the back of your head says 60 years and they will still be watching this... make it perfect. You could probably count on one hand the amount of commercials ever made that anyone will still watch in 60 years time
So beautiful man! Honestly I’ve rewatched this like 5 times just to find out you actually posted the full video a few months back. the song choice was just perfect the story telling AMAZING especially when the dance part comes on. Had me crying through the whole thing. I had never considered wedding videography until this. Amazing job man keep up the great work.
Wow this is incredibly encouraging to know another videographer/filmmaker values these moments of people’s lives. It gets hard when you start to think you’re the only one and others are running after followers, awards, workshops and money. You can start to become blind and think you must follow or seek the same things in order to be successful. I feel I should watch this over and over again to let some of the truths you share sink in more and somehow get back to believing the value in what I do for these families. ❤️🙏🏻
Feeling the love from people you shoot weddings for is a great feeling. I can think of a million jobs worse than shooting weddings. It's a special thing to be a part of if you care enough about what you're doing. Great video!
This is such an amazing reminder to me. Thank you so much Eric! I am crying writing this because recently there have been times where I do not feel enough of a filmmaker in this space. Thank you so much for reminding me that the films we create as wedding filmmakers that are cherished for a lifetime. The moments from what happens leading up to the wedding day and what happened during the wedding day are captured though our cameras and that means the world to those families. Keep capturing those moments that mean the world to those families (and the funny ones that too). You are amazing Eric! -Tim

Your message couldn't have been more relevant and on-point with what I'm struggling with right now. This video is exactly what I needed to hear right now and I'm beyond thankful to have you in my feed!
Why does almost every video you put out just gets me onto the feels man. Absolutely beautiful work
This was so inspiring to watch. I just started editing wedding films and will be hopefully filming wedding films by the end of the year. Thank you for making this
Thank you for the confirmation, for breathing life and motivation into the wedding world. Watching this and hearing your words digs deep, helps remind us all what a beautiful opportunity we have in filming these special moments.
There you go making me tear up on a Wednesday. Thanks for the motivation to keep going with work that isn't well respected by other artists, but is massively important to families for generations. Also, long live film.
Watched your videos before from time to time as they pop up as recommended, but this time, it stuck. Just subscribed. This spoke to me as someone who's been filming a lot of weddings
Well that was an emotional roller coaster... Well done. You are one of the main inspirations that transitioned me from photography into creating video also. Thank You.
The comedic timing on that intro is FLAWLESS! Keep making stuff like this homie
I think its beautiful that you give so much passion to the work regardless of what you are shooting. I resonate. kudos fam.
I literally dabbed when you said that last line. This hit home so hard!!! I needed to hear that, Eric! Love you, bro!
Man, when I first picked up a camera and got into filmmaking, of course I learned a bunch through KZread. But, I also learned that I have to try things for myself, rather than just listen to what other people tell me. So many people made wedding filmmaking out to be such a drag to be "stuck" in. But for me personally, I actually find it incredibly rewarding and super fun. I love meeting new people, and I always finish a wedding day feeling like I've made some new friends, whether that's the bride and groom, or some of their friends and family. Great video man

Love this brother. Always real, always inspiring. Hope our paths cross again soon! I'm already a musicbed subscriber. Love using their tracks for my films
Well said! Creating work that’s cherished is the goal
You make incredible points! I would add that if a film/commercial editor saw what it takes to find the story in a wedding film edit, they'd have a much higher appreciation for the art of wedding filmmaking. Great content!
This hits right in the feels. Thanks Floberg!
There's a reason I subscribed to you, and every time I watch your videos I remember exactly why ❤️
Goosebumps, man. Thank you so much for sharing this. You’re the reason my brother and I are teaming up for a wedding this weekend and I feel confident to tackle the video side at all.

Eric, in 2019 I got my brothers wedding video converted to dvd from the original video tape, (from 1994 - I did not take the video) whilst it was nothing special, just a number of non edited clips the memories are key. What you, and others current produce in the “wedding video” space are works of art, you are right most commercial works, in a year no one cares, but in 25, 40, 50 years your wedding video will still be viewed and people will have conversations about times long forgotten.

It's all about the memories. So happy you still have that tape!
Awesome! Well said! As someone that has filmed weddings now for 12 years and is just about to cut my teeth on KZread and the commercial world this means a lot! Thank you 😊
This is inspiring stuff Eric!
THIS IS TOO TRUE! I always thought it was sooo underrated. To be entrusted to capture such a beautiful and important day for people is an absolute honour!
Thankful for this video❤️
Really enjoyed seeing this! Well-said and needed to be said! 👍🏼
100% agree and it's the sentimental value that makes the backbreaking days and 100 hours of editing so worth it! :) Thanks for sharing bro!

Well, now I'm crying. This was beautiful.
This and the “Gear does not matter” video are gold 🙌🏾
Could not agree more, thanks for saying what needed saying. Also, acting skills are next level! haha
I fucking love your work!!! (Sorry for the obscenity.) It's amazing to hear all those stories and how you impacted those couples life's. I also work as a wedding photographer and I direct (try to anyway) narrative shorts. I love and respect both worlds. But they're simply not the same. I don't think either one is better or worse in anyway. They're different genres, with different end goals. Be proud to be a wedding videographer! Or be proud to be a filmmaker! They're awesome jobs.

Wow. This. This is what it's all about. Thanks for opening my mind to the idea that even if the bride and groom are the only ones who appreciate their wedding film, that sentimental value and attachment is worth more than the viewers a Nike commercial will ever get. As a wedding filmmaker/videographer, this idea will definitely motivate me to go above and beyond to make sure my clients' films are the greatest video they can be. Thanks KZread Dad!

That "Video" Made me laugh and filled my eyes with tears within a few minutes. Few Movies made by huge crews can say that about themselves.
I have got into filmaking and i love shooting weddings since i enjoy seeing them so happy since its a new begining but io have not been able to focus on myself due to pressure and now i am trying to move to making my content more.
We all need to hear this from our fellow wedding "videographers." Truly inspiring message and work Eric. What was the song you used in Max & Michelle's video?

That was more than just a "wedding movies don't suck". Thank you for giving a true meaning to filmmaking as a whole.
I want that hat!
Man I’ve always been intimidated by the idea of doing wedding films because it’s such important work for the clients. Also I’d be crying the whole process if I were editing all those films you spoke about. 😂
I do believe, people (not involved in the event) watch a wedding video and see it like a story, a movie, entertainment. But it is not this, it is a live event, a documentary of a important moment, or important pivot in their lives. It is something they can share with their family to relive the moment. It is their own personal Olympics. This is why weddings are a different challenge to capture, as you can't do retakes, no, "just get it right". You need to just be in the right place at the right moment to capture that moment, a real moment, a snipet of someones life, they cherish. Are weddings a lower made film, NO, they are a documentary.
Loved this vid! When shooting weddings, how long of a video do you send them?
@EricFloberg
3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Mine are 4-6 minutes in length.
Man such a legend
Just saved $120 with the coupon. Stoked!
At the end of the day its just a matter of opinion and preference. If you like reliving the "wedding day" vibe as a filmmaker and creator and enjoy working with couples in love and want to tell their story then do it. But don't get on your high horse yourself about people that criticize it because it's not their thing. Not everyone wants to go through that multiple times every weekend and honestly, even for people that love it, I'd find it hard to believe they don't get into the "going through the motions" mode when youre shooting 50+ weddings a year. Like many photographers/videographers, I started off doing friends/family portraits and second shooting weddings. I enjoyed it as I was learning professionally but it got old...QUICK. Its always a joyous day and I never had to deal with bridezillas but the same damn routine and same damn songs over and over and over again at all the weddings factories without any real personality just didnt really inspire anything out of me anymore creatively. On top of that, after how many failed marriages I've seen (even with couples I've shot) weddings are really just a joke to me. The best part for me was always seeing the Mother/son dance and father/daughter dance, cause thats the true beauty of capturing unconditional love, to me. who gives a fuck who considers you a "filmmaker" or not. labels and titles in this sense are retarded.
